We’ve formed a Joint Venture project called Connect Plus Services (CPS) to work with our partners to widen, operate and maintain the M25 under a 30-year contract until 2039 Reports to: M&E Manager / Dartford Senior Engineer CPS - M25 based at Dartford (preferable) or Leatherhead or South Mimms with travel within the M25 DBFO project area. The role will be responsible for coordinating and managing design and construction activities across the two Dartford tunnels and QE2 Bridge. The role will provide technical input to challenge and propose solutions for upcoming projects including leading with method engineering reviews of design and framework subcontractors proposals. The working environment of the live operational tunnels and bridges provides multi-layered complexity for which innovative solutions are to be sought as we strive to improve safety by design. The role will support the CPS engineering team with design, design coordination, review Framework contractors’ proposals and manage external design consultants inline with the delivery priorities and programme. The role will require the individual to be able to both partake in design/method workshops for specific scopes alongside a regular (weekly) construction site presence to act as the interface between the site construction works and the design & engineering teams. Whilst onsite the individual will be responsible for checking activity Control Plans, specification compliance, QA records, Identify/raise NCRs and ensure Technical Queries TQs are raised, actioned and responded to with suitable solutions to support the project need. The Project Manager delivers project objectives with respect to the six key areas of performance: Health & Safety, Quality, Cost, Environment, Delivery and People. We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual with a strong project background to join this fast-paced team to deliver the more complex highways and technology schemes throughout their whole project lifecycle. Schemes range in value from £100k to £3m+ and include safety schemes, environmental improvements, technology schemes, remedial works and junction improvement schemes. Responsibilities: • Stakeholder Management - Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with the Portfolio Manager, SPM, Construction/Supervisor Teams and key internal and external stakeholders, to ensure full mutual understanding of the projects’ delivery objectives, to report on and review project performance, and to agree solutions to issues., • Maintaining compliance with the DBFO contract clarifying roles and responsibilities within your team, resolving risks and issues in a timely manner, producing timely and accurate reports, and creating and maintaining specified records including change management., • Design, agree and implement project plans, to ensure that all activities are appropriately organised to deliver project objectives, are appropriately resourced to deliver the required outcomes., • Lead and oversee programmes throughout their whole lifecycle through feasibility, design, construction and handover. Informing investment proposals for our clients at each stage, • Contribute to the development of robust cost profiles identifying key risks and quantifying resource requirement., • Identify and evaluate emerging risks, issues, dependencies and constraints associated with the project, escalating where appropriate. Where necessary develop, agree and implement solutions to overcome these., • Commission and manage the performance of Sub Contractors and Designers as appropriate, ensuring that project objectives and requirements are clearly understood, setting clear expectations for health and safety management, time and cost; and taking appropriate remedial action where necessary., • Support the delivery of the business’ sustainability activities including net zero and biodiversity net gain., • Work closely with the Construction/Supervisor team to ensure permits, certificates and site reporting are managed correctly and align to project needs, • Managing NEC Contracts Options as Project Manager, • Ability and willingness to travel to other offices and depots on the network as and when required, • Periodic requirement for site visits (night shift), • Full Driving License The following qualities/experience are essential: • Experience of managing project teams to successfully develop of multiple projects concurrently., • A strong collaborator, with integrity and experience of managing relationships with multiple stakeholders and evidence of skills to influence relationships for positive outcomes gaining the involvement and engagement of a wide range of stakeholders., • Commercially focused, to drive project performance and ability to manage contracts to deliver outcomes, • High resilience, to deal constructively with conflicting priorities and setbacks., • Excellent communication and organisational skills, to clarify and ensure understanding of project strategies and solutions., • Experience of managing and maintaining agreed project plans and detailed stage plans in conjunction with Sub Contractors, Designers and internal partners., • Demonstrate experience as mentor and/or coach to develop project management talent, skills and competence in junior team members, • Commercially astute, • Good knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics, • Record of a solution-based approach to problem solving, • Ability to see the business vision and inspire this shared vision amongst the team., • Member of a professional management body i.e. APM, • Formal qualification (BSc/MSc) in management/construction or experience equivalent., • APM PFQ/PMQ/PPQ, • CSCS and SMSTS or Equivalent, • Proficient on Office 365, • Holds a current driving licence.
