Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced People Operations Advisor specialising in Employee Relations activities. You'll work in partnership with our operational and Head Office managers providing pragmatic advice on all aspects of employee relations activities. You'll report to the Senior People Operations Business Partner and collaborate closely with the People Operations Business Partner team in providing a proactive and best in class service to our internal customers across the business. You'll demonstrate best in class Employee Relations knowledge, and enhance our people experience through our culture of Be Yourself Here, along with Apex's purpose, values, and objectives. This role forms part of our wider People & Culture team and is based in our London Hotels, with hybrid working, travel to our hotels in Bath and Newbury and possible UK travel to support onsite to support casework as and when required. The main responsibilities of the People Operations Advisor are: • Providing professional advice and support to employees and managers on the application and interpretation of people processes and procedures, ensuring a fair and equitable approach., • Advising on Employee Relations issues, ensuring that cases are well managed, handled swiftly, effectively and in line with organisational policy and legal requirements. Such as Investigations, Disciplinary processes, Absence management, Probation, Flexible working requests and Performance Management., • Advising managers at all levels; coaching, mentoring, and supporting them in the pursuit of proactive and effective people management., • Support the proactive management of health and wellbeing, working with managers to draft and request Occupational Health or GP reports., • Manage the centralised inbox, allocating tasks, responding to basic enquiries with a critical insight knowing which issues need to be a priority along with management of people data including employee files, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies. About you This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience of working in a fast-paced, agile environment, balancing a varied and high-volume employee relations cases. You will have strong problem-solving skill set and a proactive approach with a great attention to detail and an outstanding service delivery mindset. The following range of characteristics and competencies are required/sought: • CIPD Level 3 or above is desirable., • Ability to build relationships at all levels and provide feedback to a variety of stakeholders., • Understanding of HR issues including Employee Relations and employment legislation, • Experience in interpreting and advising on HR Policies such as Disciplinary, Grievance, Capability, Absence Management and family leave., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to modify communication style to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders., • Confident in challenging the status quo, with the ability to coach and influence., • Proficient in various IT systems including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, MS Teams with a positive approach to using systems and technology.
