What we are looking for: Farnborough Airport is growing, and this is an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to be part of a high performing team building Farnborough’s future infrastructure. The Project Manager will play a key role in Farnborough’s future, leading the planning and execution of strategically important projects within a live airport operational environment. The Project Manager will be responsible for the technical, safety and financial management of projects to ensure delivery aligns with overall business objectives. Role Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include: • Lead and manage a variety of projects, in both size and complexity, throughout design, procurement, construction, delivery, and handover to achieve desired business outcomes., • Contribute to a world-class safety culture for projects and contractors, maximising health, safety and environmental performance., • Lead the identification and mitigation of risks that may adversely impact project delivery or adversely affect airport operations throughout the project/programme lifecycle., • Deliver projects within defined cost, programme, and quality requirements, leading the successful handover of assigned projects to the Operational Departments., • Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory obligations, including but not limited to, Building Regulations, CAA Regulations and CDM Regulations, all standards and code compliance, and required planning permissions., • Take an active role in developing role specific knowledge both within the aviation industry and the construction environment, engaging with knowledge sharing with the teak and experienced stakeholders., • Manage and positively influence key project stakeholders (both internal & external)., • Lead the identification and implementation of lessons learned to continuously improve project delivery., • Consistently demonstrate and encourage others to adhere to the company values of Proud, Passionate, Ambition and Together., • Contribute to the Company’s aspiration of becoming an Employer of Choice and Responsibility in the local area by actively participating in our volunteering opportunities where possible., • Demonstrate engagement with and adherence to the Company’s policies, procedures, guidelines, wellbeing initiatives and reporting channels to ensure all work is carried out safely and to the highest standards, including but not limited to:, • Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Compliance and Environmental standards / legislation., • Aerodrome license and CAA standards., • Appropriate Workplace Behaviour, UK Modern Slavery and General Data Protection & Retention (GDPR) Policies., • Support the team with adhoc activities/tasks as reasonably requested. About you: Skills, Qualifications and Experience: Essential: • Evidence of Right to Work in the UK., • Full 5-year employment/educational history required (with no unaccounted-for gaps)., • Able to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check (CRC) certificate to the required security clearance level for this role., • Hold a full valid UK Driving License or equivalent., • Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience in project management, architecture, engineering, or construction related field., • At least three years’ experience in Project Management delivery within the construction sector, in leading teams and managing external suppliers., • Experience of managing multiple, interfacing, concurrent projects desirable., • Experience in leading infrastructure projects in a live operational environment desirable., • Experience in championing and auditing project Health and Safety and an understanding of driving Health and Safety through from Design into Delivery., • Strong & demonstrable leadership and influencing skills., • Strong communication skills., • Strong practical problem-solving skills., • Ability to manage complex stakeholder requirements., • Sound commercial and financial awareness. Knowledge and understanding of construction contracts (NEC/JCT) contracts., • Knowledge and understanding of contract administration and negotiations. Desirable: • Practitioner level in project management (e.g. APMP Project Management Qualification or PRINCE2 Practitioner)., • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification., • CDM Principal Designer experience., • Knowledge and understanding of airport environment desirable., • Personal resilience and the ability to manage ambiguity.
