Senior Quantity Surveyor\n\nBolton (Hybrid with occasional site/office travel)\nRecruiting via Advance TRS\n\nAdvance TRS is supporting a well-established multi-utility contractor in their search for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial delivery of multi-utility infrastructure projects.\n\nThis is a key role responsible for ensuring projects are delivered within budget, on programme, and in line with contractual and regulatory requirements.\n\nAbout the Role\n\nReporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of the commercial performance of multiple projects, providing financial control, contractual management, and commercial insight to support successful project delivery.\n\nYou will also play an important role in mentoring junior team members and maintaining strong working relationships with both internal teams and external clients.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPrepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports, including weekly and monthly project P&L\nMonitor project costs to ensure works are delivered on budget and on schedule\nAdminister contracts, including negotiating variations, securing client approvals, and ensuring timely payment in collaboration with credit control\nWork closely with project teams, engineers, and clients to ensure specifications, safety, and quality standards are met\nSupport design and estimating teams with supplier and subcontractor pricing for non-standard works\nConduct site visits to review progress, resolve commercial or contractual issues, and ensure compliance\nAnalyse project performance against margin expectations and address discrepancies with operations teams\nProvide commercial risk analysis and advice to support informed business decisions\nMentor and support Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors\nBuild and maintain strong client relationships \n\n✅ What We're Looking For\n\nProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the utilities, infrastructure, or construction sector\nStrong knowledge of UK construction and utility industry standards and regulations\nGood understanding of contract law, procurement procedures, and financial management\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (intermediate level minimum)\nExcellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills\nAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously\nStrong organisational skills and high attention to detail\nKnowledge of utility infrastructure project delivery and associated challenges\nRelevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar\nProfessional membership (e.g., RICS, CIOB) advantageous but not essential\nFull UK Driving Licence \n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nCompetitive salary (dependent on experience)\nHealth cashback plans (including dental, eye care & prescriptions)\nGym, fitness, and retail discounts\n"Donate a Day" - an extra paid day each year for charity or community work\nOngoing mentoring and career development support\nAccess to an Employee Assistance Programme supporting physical and mental wellbeing \n\nInterested?\n\nFor more information or to apply, please contact Advance TRS with your CV and contact details.\n\nWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our company.
