Job Title: Construction Teacher Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata) 5 hours per week, Monday to Friday Contract: Permanent, Term Time only Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Construction Teacher to join our team at Meadowcroft School with the ability to deliver high-quality lessons to students, inspiring learners and equipping them with the practical and theoretical skills needed for the modern construction industry. We need someone with practical experience of Bricklaying, Joinery, Painting and decorating and Plumbing for our pupils to achieve the trade-based qualifications. This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver a practical, engaging, and personalised curriculum to pupils with complex learning needs. Our learners thrive on creative, hands-on experiences. You'll be working in a flexible curriculum environment, using excellent facilities to plan and deliver motivating lessons that support progress, independence, and confidence. Deliver practical construction lessons tailored to individual needs Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching accordingly Foster positive relationships with pupils, encouraging high expectations Work collaboratively with colleagues to support pupils with additional needs Contribute to wider school development and attend relevant training Uphold safeguarding duties and school policies Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential Strong belief in every child’s potential to achieve Experience managing challenging behaviour positively Excellent planning, communication, and classroom practice Team-focused with a commitment to professional development Meadowcroft is an independent specialist day school for pupils aged from 5 to 19, catering for pupils with a wide range of needs across 4 sites in Wakefield.
