Production Manager (Food) \n Location: Coulman Road, Thorne, Doncaster, South Yorkshire \n Salary: Up to £50K dependent on experience \n Vacancy Type: Permanent \n A Production Managerin food manufacturing will oversee the daily manufacturing operations to ensure products are made safely, efficiently, on time, and within quality standards. \n Production Operations \n\n • Supervise daily production activities on the floor.\n, • Ensure production targets (volume, OEE, yield, efficiency) are met.\n, • Monitor workflow and adjust schedules as needed.\n, • Reduce downtime and improve productivity.\n\n Food Safety & Quality Compliance \n Ensure compliance with: \n\n • HACCP\n, • GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)\n, • FDA / local food regulations\n, • ISO / FSSC standards (if applicable)\n, • Monitor hygiene, sanitation, and CCPs (Critical Control Points)\n, • Coordinate with Quality Assurance teams\n\n Team Management \n\n • Supervise line leaders and production staff and Dispatch Operations.\n, • Conduct shift briefings.\n, • Train employees on SOPs and safety procedures.\n, • Handle attendance, discipline, and performance issues.\n\n Inventory & Materials Control \n\n • Coordinate raw material availability.\n, • Minimise waste and product loss.\n, • Monitor packaging material usage.\n, • Ensure outload of materials are conducted in a timely manner to achieve on time in full KPIs.\n\n Equipment & Maintenance \n\n • Ensure machinery is operating properly.\n, • Coordinate preventive maintenance.\n, • Report breakdowns and reduce production delays.\n, • Report shortages predicted to enable this to be managed with customers.\n\n Reporting & Documentation \n\n • Maintain production reports.\n, • Track KPIs (OEE, yield, downtime, OTIS, waste).\n, • Prepare daily/weekly performance summaries.\n, • Manage 121s for direct line reports.\n\n Required Skills \n\n • Knowledge of food safety regulations.\n, • Leadership & people management.\n, • Problem-solving under pressure.\n, • Understanding of production & dispatch planning.\n, • Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.\n, • Good communication skills.\n\n Educational Background \n\n • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science\n, • Food Technology\n, • Industrial Engineering\n, • Manufacturing/Production Engineering\n, • 3–5 years experience in food manufacturing and Dispatch Operations.\n\n Shifts are the following: \n Monday to Friday \n Occasional weekend work during peak seasons \n Shifts: \n 40 hours per week with one hour for lunch unpaid \n Rotating: \n 08.30 - 17.30 Week 1 \n 11.00 - 20.00 Week 2 \n 15.00 - Finish (1am usually) Week 3 \n When working 15.00 onwards shift allowance of £100 will be provided per week. \n CMI / ILM Level 3 / 5 qualification post 6 months service with huge development opportunities. \n To Apply \n If you feel you are a suitable candidate and would like to work for Chesterfield Poultry Ltd, please do not hesitate to apply.
