An exciting opportunity for an experienced Shift Manager has become available for a large manufacturing company based in Barnoldswick. Role Purpose: To manage all aspects of the business on shift ensuring all departments and teams work effectively and efficiently as one group. Identify skills gaps, products meet the correct specification on time at the lowest cost across four shifts and meeting all agreed KPIs. Main Duties: · Successful shift changeovers to maximise teamwork across all shifts · Responsible for shift maintenance · The organisation and management of all personnel on shift · Lease with planning to produce requirements whilst maximising efficiency & quality · Utilise and report weekly on all departmental KPI’s, issues and improvements · Ensure employee and contractor compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures. · Identify skills gaps & risks and ensure training requirements are proactively implemented · To administer the appropriate level of action in relation to the non-compliance of company policies & procedures · Investigate any incidents or accidents to competition of all required improvements · Take lead and support, audits, stock takes, site checks and improvements from external contractors · Assist in the control of stores and spare parts, maintaining accurate, cost affective stocks and usage · Continuously improve all areas of the business, utilising 6s and other formalised CI processes Qualifications & Skills: · Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory management support role · NVQ level 3 or equivalent in supervisory management or equivalent training courses · Knowledge of employment law & grievance and disciplinary procedures · Must be able to give instructions to a cross section of people and work under pressure · CI experience · Excellent computer skills · Excellent numeracy skills and ability to understand and use all departmental figures and targets Working hours: · Rotating shifts: 6am to 2pm/ 2pm to 10pm, Monday to Thursday. 6am to 1pm/ 1pm to 9pm Friday. Remuneration: · Salary £42,000 plus £1602 shift allowance · 10% annual bonus · 26 days holiday plus BH · Company pension

Production Shift Manager Food Manufacturing Lancashire £40,000 - £43,000 Monday – Friday, 2pm-10pm. This is a shift that needs someone to come in, take ownership, and bring a bit of direction. You’ll be leading the 2–10 operation across 3 production lines, with a team of around 40 off-season, rising to 75 at peak. The structure is in place and the agency is well managed, so the focus here is on building consistency, supporting the Team Leaders, and getting stronger performance across the shift. The business itself is in a good place - up 10% year-on-year, financially stable, and investing in automation over the next 12 months. There’s a clear opportunity here to establish yourself as a key part of the team and grow into the number two and eventual successor for the Factory Manager. You’ll be responsible for standards across H&S and Food Safety, while also improving line efficiency, reducing labour and material costs, and dealing with performance where needed. You’ll report directly into the Factory Manager, with no layers and no customer-facing element - this is a hands-on operational role. They’re open on background - food manufacturing would be ideal, but not essential. What matters is that you’ve led teams in a production environment, understand how to manage performance, and can work with the numbers behind labour, waste, and output. This could suit someone already operating at Shift Manager level, or a strong Supervisor/Team Leader ready to step up. The process is straightforward: an initial conversation focused on your experience across people, H&S, Food Safety and performance, followed by a site visit to meet the wider team and get a feel for the operation.
