Bike lovers — we need you! We’re looking for a Bicycle Mechanic with 2+ years’ bike shop experience and a full UK driving licence to join our lovely little team. Bicycle Mechanic – Glos Bike Project Location: Gloucester Salary: Competitive, based on experience About Us Glos Bike Project is a friendly, customer‑focused bicycle shop offering new bikes, e‑bikes, refurbished bikes, servicing, and repairs. We pride ourselves on honest advice, high‑quality workmanship, and creating a welcoming environment for riders of all ages and abilities. Whether someone is buying their first bike, upgrading to an e‑bike, or keeping a much‑loved bike on the road, we’re here to help them ride with confidence. The Role We’re looking for a skilled Bicycle Mechanic who takes pride in doing a job properly. You’ll work on a wide range of bikes ,from everyday commuters and children’s bikes to high‑end e‑bikes and refurbished models. You’ll be part of a small, supportive team, helping to keep the workshop running smoothly and ensuring every customer receives clear, friendly service. Key Responsibilities Workshop & Repairs • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues across all bike types, • Service and maintain e‑bikes, including diagnostics and firmware updates (training can be provided), • Complete safety checks, routine servicing, and full refurbishments, • Build new bikes to manufacturer standards, • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment, • Ensure all bikes leaving the workshop meet our quality and safety expectations Customer Service • Provide honest, approachable advice to customers, • Explain repairs clearly and simply, • Help customers choose suitable bikes, parts, and accessories, • Support customers with e‑bike features, battery care, and usage guidance Teamwork & Shop Support • Work collaboratively with colleagues to manage workshop flow, • Support stock management, including parts ordering and workshop supplies, • Contribute to a positive, welcoming shop atmosphere We also run bike maintenance classes, deliver pop up Dr Bikes & run projects for the community About You You’ll be a great fit if you: • Have experience as a bicycle mechanic or a strong foundation you’re ready to build on, • Are confident working on both mechanical and electric bikes, • Take pride in high‑quality, safe, reliable workmanship, • Enjoy helping customers and explaining things clearly, • Can balance efficiency with attention to detail, • Work well in a small team and stay calm under pressure Formal qualifications (e.g., Cytech) are welcome but not essential — skill, attitude, and willingness to learn matter most.
