The business offers a collaborative environment, strong technical leadership, and flexibility through an agile working model.Candidates from adjacent sectors such as fire protection, water/wastewater, industrial process, HVAC, or building services are actively encouraged to apply.What’s on Offer • £45,000 salary + company car or car allowance, • Hybrid / agile working model, • Strong pipeline of technically interesting projects, • Ongoing training and development, • Supportive, team-oriented engineering environmentThe RoleAs a Pipework Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing practical, compliant, and cost-effective pipework designs that can be efficiently manufactured and installed.You will work closely with commercial, project delivery, and site teams to ensure designs are both technically robust and deliverable.Key Responsibilities, • Produce detailed pipework designs, layouts, and technical drawings, • Support projects from tender stage through to detailed design and DfM, • Interpret client requirements, site data, and P&IDs to develop workable solutions, • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure successful delivery, • Provide technical input into tenders, proposals, and cost-effective design solutions, • Conduct design reviews and ensure designs are fit for purpose and manufacturable, • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations where applicableAbout You, • Experience in pipework or mechanical design within a relevant industry (e.g. fire protection, water, HVAC, process), • Strong CAD capability (Autodesk, AutoCad LT, Inventor), • Understanding of designing systems for installation and manufacture, • Ability to work across multiple stakeholders including commercial and delivery teams, • Practical, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detailDesirable Experience, • Knowledge of standards such as LPCB, BS EN 12845, NFPA, or ACOP L8, • Experience with sprinkler systems, cooling water systems, or industrial pipework, • Exposure to full project lifecycle (tender through to installation), • NVQ Level 3 or higherAbout UsThis role is being advertised by Pertemps Engineering Division, a specialist recruiter within the engineering sector.
