Operations Support \n Location: Peterborough Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (1-hour lunch) \n The Opportunity \n Our client is a well-established and growing industrial business looking for an Operations Support Assistant to join their small, friendly and supportive team. \n This is a varied, hands-on role combining administration, customer service, stock control and operational support. Full training will be provided on the company's systems, products and processes, with opportunities to gain industry-recognised qualifications and develop a long-term career. \n Initially, you will focus on office support and learning the company's bespoke systems. As your knowledge develops, you'll become involved across the wider operation, including stock management, order fulfilment, customer service and stores. \n If you enjoy variety, learning new things and getting involved wherever needed, this could be an excellent opportunity. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Process customer orders, bookings and quotations\n, • Produce delivery notes, certificates and customer documentation\n, • Process purchase orders and supplier paperwork\n, • Maintain accurate records on internal systems\n, • Handle customer enquiries by telephone and email\n, • Learn the company's products, stock codes and processes\n, • Identify products and components for customer orders\n, • Book stock in and out and assist with inventory control\n, • Monitor stock levels, complete stock checks and support stock takes\n, • Prepare, pick and pack orders for dispatch\n, • Check incoming deliveries and ensure correct storage\n, • Assist customers with trade counter enquiries\n, • Support operations across both the office and stores\n, • Work closely with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service\n, • Assist management with general operational duties and projects\n\n About You \n We are looking for someone with: \n\n • Strong customer service and communication skills\n, • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office\n, • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy\n, • A proactive, flexible and hands-on approach\n, • Confidence working across both office and stores/warehouse environments\n, • Ability to manage a varied workload and priorities\n, • Willingness to learn technical products and processes\n, • Ability to work independently and within a small team\n\n Previous experience within administration, operations, customer service, stores or warehousing would be advantageous. \n Career Development \n This role offers genuine long-term progression.
