Year 4 Class Teacher – Primary School (Maternity Cover) Location: Enfield, London Start Date: 20 April 2026 Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (Summer Term) Salary: £180–£300 per day (dependent on experience) Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary applies to candidates with substantial teaching experience. Teach Now is seeking a passionate and committed Year 4 Class Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school community in Enfield for the Summer Term. About the School The school is a well-established and inclusive primary setting for pupils aged 3–11, with approximately 444 children on roll. About the Role As the Year 4 Class Teacher, you will take full responsibility for the class throughout the Summer Term. You will work alongside a parallel Year 4 teacher, benefiting from weekly shared planning time (half a day) to ensure consistency and collaboration across the year group. The class is lively, bright, and engaged, responding well to clear expectations and structured routines. There are a small number of pupils with more challenging behaviour, so strong classroom management and a nurturing, relationship-focused approach are essential. Staff meetings take place weekly on Wednesdays until 5:00pm. The school will also be holding trial days during the first week of the Summer Term, providing an opportunity to meet the team and experience the classroom environment. Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the Year 4 curriculum, • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress effectively, • Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment, • Work collaboratively with the parallel Year 4 teacher and wider staff team, • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and contribute to school life, • Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development Requirements • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), • Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 4 experience desirable), • Strong classroom management and organisational skills, • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents, • Commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning, • A nurturing and adaptable approach to supporting diverse pupil needs This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school with a strong sense of community and collaboration.
