Solicitor - Personal Injury & CICA Bury - Hybrid An established and nationally recognised personal injury team is seeking a Fee Earner / Solicitor to manage a varied caseload of personal injury and Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) matters. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality legal advice and representation, balancing compliance, client care, and financial performance, while contributing to the department's continued growth. This role would suit a driven solicitor, legal executive, or experienced fee earner with demonstrable experience in PI and/or CICA work. Duties: • Manage a caseload of PI and CICA claims from inception to conclusion, including litigation and Tribunal work., • Advise clients clearly on legal options, costs, funding arrangements, and CICA scheme provisions., • Draft applications, reviews, appeals, pleadings, witness statements, and schedules of loss., • Represent clients at Tribunal hearings, or instruct Counsel where required., • Financial & Risk Management, • Conduct case risk assessments and ensure financial viability., • Manage billing, cost recovery, and settlement processes efficiently., • Ensure compliance with SRA regulations and internal policies., • Client Care, • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing empathetic support—particularly for vulnerable or abuse-survivor clients., • Maintain high levels of client satisfaction to encourage referrals and repeat instructions., • Supervision & Team Contribution (for senior candidates), • Undertake file reviews to maintain quality and compliance., • Contribute to knowledge-sharing, training, and supervision of colleagues., • Business Development & Contribution, • Support departmental and wider business plans., • Assist with marketing, networking, and profile-raising initiatives., • Solicitor, Legal Executive, or experienced Fee Earner with PI/CICA expertise., • Advocacy and litigation experience desirable but not essential., • Senior applicants: 3-5+ years PQE with supervisory skills., • Junior/mid-level applicants: 0-3 years PQE or equivalent paralegal/executive experience with ambition to progress., • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills., • Client-focused, with ability to handle sensitive matters., • Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities., • Confident in compliance, billing, and case management., • Competitive salary (based on experience)., • Bonus scheme linked to performance., • Flexible working, including hybrid/remote options supported by advanced IT systems., • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays and additional Flexileave., • Professional development and genuine career progression opportunities.
