Location: Overstone Park Golf Club, Northampton Position Type: Full-Time (Includes evenings, weekends, and key club events) Reports To: Club Manager About Us Overstone Park Golf Club is a premier golfing and leisure destination known for its vibrant community, high-quality course, and busy hospitality operations. Our Food & Beverage department caters to everything from daily member dining and busy weekend golfers to large-scale functions, weddings, and club events. We are seeking a dedicated, hands-on Food & Beverage Manager to take the reins of our daily shift operations, maximise revenue, and lead our front-of-house team to success. Role Overview As the Food & Beverage Manager, you will take direct responsibility for the smooth running of our food and drink operations, with a heavy presence on the floor during peak evening and weekend shifts. You will work side-by-side with our Functions & Events Manager to ensure all private and club events run flawlessly while simultaneously maintaining a high standard of service for our day-to-day members. You will be a high-energy leader who drives sales targets, maintains immaculate health and safety standards in both front-of-house and kitchen areas, and ensures every guest receives a first-class experience. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development Supervise & Support: Manage, motivate, and coordinate the front-of-house F&B team during fast-paced shifts High-Quality Training: Provide ongoing coaching and training programmes to staff to maintain exceptional customer service standards Performance Tracking: Keep the team aligned, motivated, and performing efficiently to meet daily targets Event Execution & Partnership Side-by-Side Partnership: Work in direct alignment with our Functions & Events Manager to ensure a seamless transition from the planning phase to live floor execution. While they handle the organisation, you will lead the floor delivery. Dual-Operation Management: Master the balancing act of running smooth, high-volume private functions (weddings, golf societies, corporate days) side-by-side with our regular daily member and visitor trade, ensuring neither experience is compromised. Maximising Secondary Spend: Actively strategies and coordinate during events to maximise revenue, driving the front-of-house team to optimise bar and food spend through efficient service, upselling, and timely last-calls. Commercial Drive & Upselling Hit Sales Targets: Take accountability for meeting and exceeding shift revenue targets Promote & Upsell: Actively drive and promote daily specials, club events, and premium options. Train staff to confidently utilise upselling techniques. Standards, Health & Safety Cleanliness & Presentation: Ensure all dining, bar, and outdoor terrace areas are kept perfectly clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times. Hygiene & Compliance: Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure strict health, safety, and food hygiene procedures (HACCP) are followed without compromise. Operational Integrity: Manage opening/closing checklists, secure the premises on late shifts, uphold UK licensing laws, and ensure accurate cash handling. What We Are Looking For Experience: A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a supervisor or management role within a fast-paced, high-volume F&B environment (golf club, resort, or busy hospitality venue experience is highly desirable). Leadership Track Record: Proven ability to manage, train, and inspire a team on the floor during high-pressure shifts. Target-Driven Mindset: A proactive approach to boosting sales, executing promotions, and hitting financial benchmarks. Flexibility: Full availability to work a flexible roster centred heavily around evenings, weekends, and key club diary dates. Standards Focus: Exceptional eye for detail regarding customer service, hygiene compliance, and overall venue presentation.
