Central Recruitment is working with one of the UK's oldest not-for-profit housing associations. They focus on providing good homes and housing services, making a positive difference in communities, and creating an inclusive and supportive place to work. Our client is currently recruiting for an Outreach Support Worker to work in the Greenwich & Blackheath areas at a service that provides support and crisis intervention to former rough sleepers living in independent accommodation. • 37.5 hours per week, • Monday - Friday, • Shifts: 09:00 - 17:00, • Temporary: approx. 4 weeks, with the possibility of extension, • £16.95 per hour (£14.80 per hour, with £2.15 holiday pay) Please note: This is an outreach role, you will work across 4 properties in the Blackheath area and from the office in Greenwich. Key responsibilities: • Hold a caseload of 12-13 key clients, delivering key working sessions and tailored support plans, • Work with customers to identify the skills required to manage their own tenancy, • Provide pre-tenancy support, including assistance moving into properties, • Support customers in claiming benefits and assist with accessing specialist support, • Assess needs, triage referrals, and provide guidance through drop-ins, ongoing support and crisis intervention, • Encourage access to mental health, substance misuse, health, training, employment, and social support services, • Liaise with external agencies and review support plans with partner organisations What we’re looking for: • Experience supporting former rough sleepers, • Strong knowledge of welfare benefits, safeguarding, health and safety, and housing support needs, • Understanding of statutory and voluntary support services, • Excellent communication, customer service, and IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) Further requirements: In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria: • Current valid right to work in the UK, • Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise), • A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60), • Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process How to apply: If you feel that you fully meet the above outlined criteria for this role and would like apply for this post, please forward your CV for consideration. *Please note the outlined experience is the 'minimum' first stage criteria, and we will therefore be unable to consider your application unless you are able to demonstrate a relevant work history in line with this position
