Job Overview The Capital Projects Manager will lead the delivery of capital development projects across a private healthcare organisation, ensuring schemes are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Experience working within healthcare environments is essential, and experience supporting the setup or expansion of dialysis services is a strong advantage. The role works closely with clinical teams, estates, procurement, and external contractors. Technical compliance will be supported by Authorising Engineers (AE) and Authorised Persons (AP), so deep technical HTM/HBN expertise is desirable but not essential. Key Responsibilities • Deliver end‑to‑end project management including feasibility, design coordination, construction oversight, commissioning, and handover., • Manage refurbishment and expansion projects within live clinical settings, ensuring patient safety and minimal disruption., • Work collaboratively with clinical leads, estates teams, infection prevention, finance, and external suppliers., • Ensure projects align with CQC requirements, relevant Health Building Notes, HTMs, health & safety legislation, and internal governance processes., • Manage project budgets, monitor spend and report financial performance., • Maintain risk registers and assurance documentation throughout the project lifecycle., • Manage tendering, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring of contractors and consultants., • Provide clear progress updates, milestone tracking, and risk escalation to senior leadership. Essential Experience & Skills • Proven experience managing capital or estates projects in NHS or private healthcare environments., • Ability to work effectively with contractors, designers, engineers, and specialist suppliers., • Strong financial oversight and cost‑control capability., • Ability to collaborate across clinical and non‑clinical teams., • Experience maintaining project governance, risk logs, and assurance documentation., • Comfortable operating within formal estates governance frameworks where technical sign‑off is provided by AE/AP roles.
