Our CAMHS Getting More Help Service is looking for a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist (6 PAs) to join our Specialist Community Team East, based at Wokingham Hospital and covering Bracknell locality. You'll work with children & young people with moderate to severe mental health needs across emotional dysregulation, trauma and depression pathways, supporting them in the community to access timely intervention. You'll play a key role in delivering innovative, multi-agency care in a team with very low wait times, making a real difference to young people and their families. Our fully staffed MDT values holistic assessment, shared formulation & thoughtful care planning. Consultants are integral to shaping plans alongside colleagues, contributing clinical expertise within a genuinely collaborative environment. Collaboration and peer support are central to how we work. Our MDT includes Clinical Psychologists, Family Therapists, Psychodynamic Psychotherapists, Mental Health Practitioners & Nurses. You'll work closely with families, wider CAMHS services & partner organisations, bringing a team-focused approach to complex cases. In this role you'll have dedicated CPD time, monthly consultant meetings, and opportunities to develop teaching, special interests & service improvement projects. • Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children and young people up to 18 within the Bracknell locality, • Hold a caseload and deliver 2-3 clinical contacts per direct clinical session, depending on clinical complexity, • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to shared formulation, holistic care planning and multi-agency decision-making, • Offer consultation and clinical advice to colleagues across the service, • Engage with families, schools, social care, community paediatrics, GPs and partner agencies to coordinate care, • Participate in service improvement, clinical audit, CPD and teaching Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is a specialist mental health and community health services trust. Please note, we may close this role earlier than the advertised closing date, so please submit your application as soon as possible. • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification, • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management, • Additional clinical qualifications, • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment, • Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months., • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment., • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment., • In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice, • Excellent knowledge in specialty., • Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge., • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English., • Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty., • Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others., • Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA., • Experience in management of children and young people with complex needs spanning multiple agencies, with mental health and learning disability problems alongside behavioural issues., • Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service., • Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training., • Ability to work in and lead team., • Demonstrate commitment to shared leadership & collaborative working to deliver improvement., • Participated in continuous professional development., • Participated in research or service evaluation., • Able to use and appraise clinical evidence., • Has actively participated in clinical audit and quality improvement programmes., • Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post., • Reflected on purpose of CPD undertaken, • Experienced in clinical research and / or service evaluation., • Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit and service improvement: awards, prizes, presentations and publications., • Has led clinical audits leading to service change or improved outcomes to service users., • Holds and will use valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternative.
