Engineer Team Leader \n Are you an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer ready to take the next step into leadership? \n We’re looking for a technically strong and motivated Engineer Team Leader to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll lead a small team of engineers, support production and play a key role in improving plant reliability, reducing downtime and maximising OEE. \n Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day engineering function on your shift, ensuring equipment is maintained safely, efficiently and to a high standard. \n Engineer Team LeaderKey Responsibilities \n\n • Lead, support and develop a team of Multi-Skilled Engineers.\n, • Coordinate daily engineering resources and prioritise work alongside Production.\n, • Manage and carry out reactive and preventative maintenance to maximise plant uptime.\n, • Provide hands-on support with fault finding, repairs and equipment reliability.\n, • Lead and support Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement activities.\n, • Assist with the management and supervision of contractors, ensuring safe and professional working practices.\n, • Ensure all engineering work complies with health & safety, Permit to Work, food safety and environmental requirements.\n, • Support the management of engineering spares, inventory and maintenance planning.\n, • Ensure machinery, plant and engineering systems meet relevant legislative requirements.\n, • Coordinate servicing, inspections and planned maintenance, ensuring equipment is safely and hygienically handed back to Production.\n, • Maintain essential site services including boilers, chilled water, compressed air and effluent systems.\n, • Support machinery installations, upgrades, modifications and relocations.\n, • Work closely with Production to reduce losses, improve efficiency and increase equipment performance.\n, • Promote high standards of GMP, housekeeping and “clean as you go” practices.\n, • Support the achievement of engineering KPIs and departmental objectives.\n\n Engineer Team LeaderWhat We’re Looking For \n\n • Recognised engineering qualification or apprenticeship, ideally electrical with mechanical capability.\n, • ONC, City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification.\n, • Relevant electrical qualifications, with 17th or 18th Edition advantageous.\n, • Strong multi-skilled engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.\n, • Previous experience leading, supervising or mentoring engineers or contractors.\n, • Experience working within a food manufacturing or similarly regulated environment is desirable.\n, • Good understanding of planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, OEE and Root Cause Analysis.\n, • Strong health & safety awareness and understanding of safe systems of work.\n, • Confident working independently, with Production teams and within a wider Engineering function.\n, • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead and motivate others.\n, • Good written, verbal and IT skills, with an appreciation of accurate maintenance and safety records.\n\n Engineer Team Leader Benefits & Hours of work \n This is more than just a job — it’s an opportunity to build your leadership career within a supportive and progressive engineering environment. \n You’ll receive: \n Salary 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, Day shifts starting at 6:00AM, Overtime opportunities, Company pension, Free on-site parking, Discounted or free food, Company events and team activities, Training and development programmes, Genuine career progression opportunities, A supportive environment where your skills and development are valued And more! \n Ready for Your Next Step? \n If you’re a hands-on Multi-Skilled Engineer with the technical expertise and leadership ability to take the next step, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career, lead a team and make a real impact on engineering performance. \n Interested?
