This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position offering a salary of £36,000 £38,000 per year with an immediate start available. A permanent contract will be offered to the successful candidate after 812 weeks, subject to satisfactory performance. About Our Client Our client is a well-established construction contractor based in Fleet, Hampshire. The successful candidate will be working across Newbury, Reading, Basingstoke, and surrounding areas. The company delivers building, refurbishment, and maintenance services across a variety of sectors, including social housing, healthcare, education, defence, and commercial properties. Their projects range from general building repairs and planned maintenance to kitchen and bathroom refurbishments, mechanical and electrical works, and void property turnarounds. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work across the South of England, they are looking to expand their team with skilled and reliable tradespeople. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and reliable Multi-Trade Operative with a strong carpentry background to join the team. The role involves working primarily in tenanted social housing properties across Newbury, Reading, Basingstoke, and along the M3/M4 corridor, delivering high-quality maintenance and repair works. Key Responsibilities Carrying out carpentry works to a high standard (core trade) Wall tiling General decorating, including preparation, painting, and finishing Basic plumbing tasks, such as sink connections and tap replacements Installation of latex screeds and vinyl flooring Ensuring all work is completed safely, cleanly, and to a high standard Working respectfully and professionally within occupied properties Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining tenant satisfaction Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in: Carpentry/joinery (primary trade) Wall and floor tiling Decorating and finishing works Basic plumbing Floor preparation and vinyl flooring installation Social housing and tenanted property maintenance You should also have: Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Good communication and customer service skills A professional and positive attitude Requirements Full, clean UK driving licence Own tools required to carry out the work Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy Personal Attributes Professional and customer-focused Respectful when working in tenants' homes Team-oriented and adaptable Willingness to learn and develop new skills Positive and enthusiastic approach to work What's on Offer Immediate start available Temp-to-perm opportunity Permanent contract after 812 weeks Salary of £36,000 £38,000 per year Company van and fuel card Competitive holiday entitlement Pension scheme Consistent workload and long-term job security Supportive working environment Opportunities for progression and development TPBN1_UKTJ
