Chef required to work in an education establishment around the West Birmingham area. This role will be working within a Bistro on a school campus. Main Duties: - Cook and prepare high quality dishes to set menu spec - Supervise all kitchen stations - Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environments - Be responsible for health and safety - Be responsible for food hygiene practices. - Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment at all times - Ensure food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created - Assist with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering - Complete daily and weekly records including temperature checks. - Overseeing day-to-day food preparation across all catering outlets on the school campus Skills required: - Good knowledge of all sections - Strong ability to produce good quality food and first-rate culinary skills - Strong organisational skills - An ability to work unsupervised and consistently deliver quality work - Experience of a variety of kitchen environments - preferably within an education setting - Good knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) - Knowledge of food production methods - Good communication with all members of the team Qualifications: - Minimum food hygiene level 2 or above dated within the last 3 years - Clear enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update service - Minimum 12 months experience in a similar role is essential - Own transport preferred but not essential Hours: Monday to Friday fulltime Pay rate: From £16 per hour Immediate start Blue Arrow Benefits: - Weekly pay - Pensions scheme - Holiday accrual - Blue Arrow app - manage your timetable, view local work, accept/decline shifts, receive job notifications, etc If you are interested - click APPLY to submit your CV Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.
