Operations Manager - O&M Bristol location is desired for occasional site travel £60,000-£65,000 + bonus, benefits + 25 days holiday ILOS is a fast-growing renewable energy company with a strong presence across Europe, backed by AXA IM Alts and committed to accelerating the energy transition. Since 2018, we have developed, built, and operated large-scale solar PV projects across seven core markets. THE ROLE OVERVIEW As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance and management of a portfolio of solar energy assets across the UK. Your role will involve ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and optimisation of solar projects to maximise energy production and financial returns. You will work closely with internal teams, external contractors, and stakeholders to ensure that the assets are operating at peak performance while adhering to regulatory requirements You will work as a team with our senior asset manager to deliver on a variety of contractual and technical solutions to our live assets, as well as provide some guidance to other business functions, such as our EPC teams. TASKS • Monitor and analyse solar asset performance through SCADA and performance tools, identify efficiency improvements, and deliver regular performance reports to stakeholders, • Initiate, coordinate and oversee both internal and third-party service providers, including O&M activities, ensuring preventative and corrective maintenance is delivered to contract standards, while facilitating and managing services in-house and coordinating site inspections to verify asset performance., • Act as the main point of contact for key stakeholders, providing performance updates, addressing queries, and ensuring clear communication between internal teams and external partners., • Manage the performance and maintenance of assets, working closely with the Commercial Asset Manager and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) teams to ensure smooth operations and high performance., • Work with engineers to identify upgrade opportunities, assess expansion or repowering projects, and lead initiatives to integrate energy storage solutions., • Assist in preparing and present regular reports on asset performance, financial status, and operational KPIs for both internal teams and external stakeholders., • Drive compliance across our solar projects, ensuring health, safety and environmental standards are met while keeping stakeholders informed and ahead of regulatory changes. Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus., • Minimum 3–5 years of technical asset management experience within the renewable energy sector, preferably in solar energy., • Proven track record in managing the technical performance of utility-scale solar portfolios, including monitoring, analysis, and optimisation of plant output., • Strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to interpret performance data, SCADA outputs, and technical reports to generate actionable insights., • Proficiency in solar monitoring platforms, asset management software, and SCADA systems, with experience in performance analysis, fault diagnosis, and optimisation., • Experience managing O&M contracts, warranty claims, and technical service agreements, ensuring compliance and maximising asset availability., • Sound knowledge of UK grid regulations, health & safety standards, and environmental compliance within the renewable energy sector., • Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in utility-scale solar PV plants, including HV equipment, inverters, and balance-of-plant components., • Strong reporting skills, including preparation of technical and performance reports for investors and stakeholders., • Excellent communication and project management abilities, with experience coordinating contractors, service providers, and external consultants., • Familiarity with renewable energy markets and regulatory frameworks, with the ability to support technical due diligence, audits, and KPI tracking to optimise asset performance., • Certifications:, • Professional certifications in renewable energy, asset management, or project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) are desirable.
