Key Responsibilities: • Operate nationally as part of multiple contracts held by MJ Quinn Integrated Services, • Attend various types of premises to install new mechanical systems to various types of cooling units and associated systems / services., • Install and joint pipework using brazing, soldering, and mechanical fittings in accordance with BS standards, • Carry out risk assessments and complete work permits in line with health and safety regulations., • Ensure all work complies with relevant British Standards and internal quality protocols, • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and compliance checks., • Liaise with site managers, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of services Qualifications / Experience: • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering (Pipefitting) or equivalent, • Valid CSCS card; SSSTS, • Experience in commercial plumbing and mechanical pipefitting, ideally within healthcare, industrial, or large-scale commercial settings., • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Position summary We are seeking a qualified Electrician to support drone-based electroluminescence (EL) inspection work across commercial and utility-scale solar sites. The role involves isolating and energising PV strings, connecting biasing equipment, and ensuring all electrical tasks are completed safely and to industry standards. This is a field-based position suited to someone who is technically skilled, safety-focused, and comfortable working in outdoor and utility-scale environments. The role will involve frequent travel within the UK and internationally. What you’ll do You will prepare PV arrays for EL inspections by safely isolating circuits, configuring electrical test equipment, and supporting drone pilot on-site. You will also read schematics to select the required tools and evaluate the complexity of the inspection, complete pre- and post- inspection documentation, and troubleshoot electrical or communication issues in the filed as needed. You will ensure that all electrical works are compliant with BS 7671 and site specific requirements. This is primarily a field-based role and can involve early morning starts, evening and night work, and travel with overnight stays. Full training will be provided on the method of electrical biasing for EL inspection. You will also be involved in training electrical technicians from our partners in other countries to perform the inspection. What you’ll bring • A BS 7671 18th Edition qualification (or 17th edition with willingness to upgrade), • A recognised Solar PV installation certificate, • At least two years’ experience working with or fitting solar systems, • Strong understanding of PV module layout, string configuration, and solar farm electrical architecture., • You should be confident with wiring, earthing, DC systems, basic networking, and working at heights., • Good communication skills and ability to work within a field team under time-critical project schedules., • Ability to work with Microsoft Office products and complete necessary documentation., • Willingness to travel frequently,, • A full clean driving licence, clear background check, and strong initiative, communication, and time-management skills are essential,, • Demonstrated ability to train and mentor electrical technicians.
