We are seeking a Senior Compliance Counsel to join our global Legal Compliance team and play a central role in supporting and strengthening our compliance framework across multiple regions. This is a high‑impact position suited to an experienced legal professional who brings sound judgement, a practical mindset and the confidence to work independently. You’ll provide expert guidance on a wide range of compliance matters, lead key initiatives, and collaborate with colleagues across the business to ensure our policies, processes and controls remain robust and effective. Key Responsibilities • Providing legal advice to the business on legal compliance matters, including but not limited to sanctions and export controls, anti‑corruption, anti‑trust and competition law, and data protection., • Managing, assisting, and supporting other members of the Innospec Legal team as required., • Participating in the continuing improvement and development of Innospec’s Legal Compliance program., • Conducting, overseeing, and approving compliance due diligence of agents, distributors, consultants and other intermediaries and representatives., • Managing external counsel to take specialist advice as required., • Reviewing the legal compliance aspects of contracts and tender documents, and drafting or advising on relevant contract clauses, end‑user certificates, third‑party codes of conduct, and related documentation., • Creating, reviewing and implementing Legal Compliance policies and procedures including the Code of Conduct, Gifts and Hospitality, Export Controls and Trade Sanctions, Corporate Governance, Competition Law and Antitrust, and Data Protection and providing related advice, guidance, support and approvals., • Carrying out compliance assessments across business units and geographies, including developing assessment protocols, liaising with business leads, analysing documentation, conducting interviews, drafting reports and identifying remedial actions., • Conducting Legal Compliance investigations, including reports to the whistle-blower hotline., • Providing support to internal projects, such as IT transformation and implementation of new or revised legal compliance policies or processes., • Creation and delivery of online and in-person training., • Supporting quarterly reporting to the board and senior management. Requirements • Legal qualification (e.g., law degree, Legal Practice Course, Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, etc.) with 10+ years PQE, including some in‑house experience., • Confident approach to work with the ability to operate independently and use own initiative, while seeking advice and support where required., • Excellent verbal, written, and overall communication skills., • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills., • Good working knowledge of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel., • Ability to lead and manage projects to completion, including those involving cross‑functional teams and third‑party advisors., • Available for periodic international travel (typically 1–3 trips per year), with potential for unplanned, last‑minute travel in response to urgent needs such as investigations or regulatory activity., • Practical and solutions‑oriented approach to compliance.
