Estimator – Commercial Construction Company: Schofield and Sons Location: Monton, Eccles, Salford (Projects across the North West) Company Profile: Schofield and Sons is a well-established commercial construction company with over 40 years of industry experience. Based in Monton, Eccles, Salford, we operate exclusively within the commercial sector and are trusted delivery partners on multiple frameworks, including Fire Services, Police Authorities and the North West Consortium. Our client base includes the NHS, Greater Manchester Transport, Salford, Chorley and Wigan Councils, numerous architectural practices, many schools across the North West, and the Dioceses of Salford and Manchester. Our work includes a wide range of commercial construction projects, refurbishments, heritage works delivered throughout the North West region. Estimator Role Overview We are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to support our continued workload. The role will involve pricing commercial construction projects with values ranging from £50,000 to 2–3 million, with the majority of tenders typically between £180,000 and £500,000. Estimator Key Responsibilities • Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial projects, • Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation, • Obtaining, analysing and comparing subcontractor and supplier quotations, • Producing full cost breakdowns and supporting tender submissions, • Liaising with internal teams, architects and clients throughout the tender process, • Demonstrating strong commercial awareness and cost control, • Maintaining clear records of estimates and quotations Estimator Candidate Requirements • Proven experience as an Estimator within the commercial construction sector, • Demonstrable experience pricing projects between £50,000 and £2–3 million, • Evidence of completed quotations and successful tender submissions, • Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials and pricing, • Ability to work accurately to deadlines, • Strong communication and organisational skills Package and Benefits • Salary: £46,000 – £50,000 per annum (depending on experience), • Benefits include:, • Car allowance, • Pension scheme, • Working hours: 40 hours per week (8:00am – 4:30pm), • Holiday entitlement: 21 days per annum plus all bank holidays Contract Details: The position will initially be offered on full cards in position Subject to performance, candidate will be on a 6 month probationary period, position will be offered to the right candidate
