At a Glance We're building the operating system for neurodevelopmental care. Starting with ADHD and autism pathways, we help providers and health systems replace fragmented, manual processes with intelligent workflow, structured data, and AI-enabled software. In practice, that means building systems that coordinate referrals, structure clinical data, support decision-making, and automate operational workflows across services. Today, we are already live in the NHS and private sector, growing quickly, and still early enough that every great hire can have outsized impact. We're hiring a first Founding Engineer to work directly with the CTO. If you want to work on meaningful problems, build real systems, and help shape a company from the inside out, we'd love to hear from you. Why We Exist Neurodevelopmental care is under intense pressure. Demand for ADHD and autism services has surged, but the infrastructure behind these pathways has not kept pace. Too many services still rely on fragmented processes, manual coordination, disconnected systems, and administrative workarounds. The result is long waits, inconsistent communication, limited visibility, and pathways that are difficult to manage reliably. Patients are often left navigating disjointed care journeys at some of the most important moments in their lives. Clinical and operational teams spend too much time on administration instead of care delivery. Health systems are under growing pressure to improve access, quality, consistency, and throughput, without compromising safety or trust. We exist to help fix that. What We're Building ThinkDivergent's Neurodevelopmental Operating System (NDOS) supports the full neurodevelopmental care journey - from referral, intake, and triage through assessment, treatment, medication review, and ongoing support. Our platform combines workflow software, structured data infrastructure, automation, and AI-enabled tooling to help clinical and operational teams run complex pathways with greater speed, consistency, and visibility. Rather than digitising isolated tasks, we are building pathway infrastructure: software that helps services operate better end to end. This is healthcare infrastructure for a category that urgently needs it. Where We Are Today We're live in the market and scaling across both the NHS and private sector. We're working with leading NHS organisations, supporting patients every day through our platform, and expanding quickly across adult and children's ADHD and autism pathways. We're still early. We have 4 core modules live; the roadmap includes 12 more across the full care journey. That means there is still a huge amount to build, but also an opportunity to help define the company, the product, and the category. The Role We're hiring a Founding Engineer to work directly with the CTO. This is a high-ownership, high-autonomy role - you'll build core features end-to-end, challenge technical decisions, and help define how we use AI to build production-grade healthcare software. You won't be given tickets and asked to execute. You'll be expected to think, question, and shape what we build and why. What you'll do: • Build across the stack - React frontend, Python/Firebase backend, GCP infrastructure, • Own reliability - if something breaks, it matters. You'll contribute to monitoring, incident response, and improving system resilience, • Shape architecture - challenge decisions, propose better approaches, and help evolve the system as we scale, • Contribute to product thinking - help answer: Should we build this? What's the simplest version that works? What's the best experience for clinicians? Complementary skills: The CTO's strength is backend - databases, architecture, performance, reliability. The ideal complement is someone with a natural instinct for frontend and design: someone who looks at an interface and sees how a different approach could radically improve usability. You work across the full stack, but your feel for beautiful, intuitive interfaces is what sets you apart. How We Build We are an AI-first engineering team. We use Cursor and Claude Code to design, implement, and test. We actively explore agentic workflows and optimise for minimal code, strong systems, and clear thinking. We don't write code manually when AI can do it better, but we don't trust AI blindly either. The bar is: Can you reason about what's been generated? Can you spot what's missing, fragile, or wrong? What We Value • The Mission: We care about solving a real problem that profoundly affects people’s lives., • High standards: We care about quality, judgement, and doing things properly., • Tempo: We work fast, with care, discipline, and a bias to action., • Low ego: We want smart, capable people who are collaborative and grounded., • Trust: We work best when people are reliable, honest, and assume good intent. Why Join ThinkDivergent • You're joining early, with real traction already in place., • You'll be the first engineering hire. Your decisions shape the system, the standards, and the culture., • You'll work directly with the CTO with fast feedback and a steep learning curve., • You will shape architecture, product direction, technical standards, and team culture - not from the sidelines, but as a core builder of the company., • You will work with cutting-edge AI tools and build agentic systems in real-world settings where performance, reliability, safety, and usability all matter. It is a chance to do deeply meaningful work at a high technical level, solve hard problems, and have a tangible impact on people's lives while building category-defining infrastructure.
