Event Manager • Contract: Initial 3-month contract, • Pay Rate: £25.64 – £33.33 per hour, • Location: Wimbledon 4 days per week onsite + international travel Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Event Manager to join a leading international business-to-business (B2B) group, specialising in academic publishing, business intelligence, and live events. This role would be to deliver a portfolio of high-end international events that meet commercial objectives and exceed guest expectations. The successful candidate will be tenacious, resourceful, and highly organised, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be extremely detail-oriented, capable of working independently, and comfortable operating in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role involves liaising with senior industry figures, including owners, sponsors, and high-profile stakeholders. Strong financial management and cost control experience are essential. Key Responsibilities • Deliver events from initial planning through on-site execution to post-event reconciliation and performance analysis, • Manage event budgets, including forecasting, cost control, invoice reconciliation, and overall P&L accountability, • Develop and maintain detailed project timelines, task lists, and on-site operational plans, • Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers including venues, catering, production, and logistics, • Oversee development of event content in collaboration with editorial and content teams, including speaker briefing and logistics, • Lead and deliver event marketing strategies and promotional campaigns to maximise registrations and revenue, • Manage guest communications and ensure a premium attendee experience, • Ensure all event activity aligns with brand values and standards before, during, and after each event, • Work closely with commercial teams to support sponsorships and partnerships, ensuring contractual deliverables are met, • Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, partners, and suppliers, • Review and manage venue and supplier contracts, identifying and mitigating commercial or legal risks, • Manage, motivate, and support junior members of the events team, • Monitor market trends and audience insights to inform event strategy and development Skills & Experience • Proven experience in event management, ideally within luxury, conference, or event agency environments, • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail, • Confident managing multiple projects with tight deadlines, • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, • Solid financial acumen with experience managing budgets and cost control, • Strong front-of-house presence and professional demeanour, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with event or CRM platforms is advantageous, • Proactive, adaptable, and solution-focused attitude Additional Requirements • Experience delivering conferences and/or B2B events preferred, • Comfortable working with high-profile and UHNW individuals, • Willingness to travel internationally, • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required
