Embedded Software Engineer Motorsport - Norwich Arden White is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer to bolster the bandwidth of our clients Powertrain Software and Controls department, to deliver our clients Engineering projects to time & quality This is a hybrid role and will require on-site at least 3 days a week to work with the existing team. Knowledge sharing will be crucial to effective work and success of the program. Access to simulators and validation tools required is only possible on-site. This will be a contract initially set at 6 months. We are looking for a candidate with the experience to: • Deliver allocated software changes (C-code) for engine management systems through our DevOps software management tools., • Implement the software changes or new functions, test, validate and calibrate (default/safe)., • Create control algorithm specifications and documentation for any software changes implemented., • Create and modify calibration procedures for new or developing control algorithms., • Investigate and resolve issues relating to engine control that are raised by the customer., • Create or modify software documentation for the functions requested by the customer as allocated by the program lead., • Issue reports on development work undertaken and providing input to status reports as required., • Prepare Powertrain technical documentation, including reports and presentation material as required., • Implementing and adhering to health & safety regulations You will need: • Engineering degree / HNC or equivalent experience., • Able to understand and write C-code to a high standard., • High level PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)., • Recent experience of delivering hand C-code projects., • Ability to work as part of a team., • Self-reliant and self-starting – takes Responsibility for overall delivery and ownership of projects and tasks to completion., • Excellent attention to detail, communication & leadership skills. Ideally you will have: • Engineering degree, masters, PhD. Membership of appropriate institution (IMechE)., • Calibration background, understanding of the calibration process., • Familiarity with calibration development tools and techniques., • Understanding of automotive legislative requirements., • Understanding of powertrain controls strategy and software development., • Recent delivery of programs at a senior level within a software and controls department., • Thorough understanding of combustion engine development.
