Not every Assistant Accountant role gives you real exposure. This one does. If you’re early in your finance career and want more than just ticking boxes at month end, this is a chance to get properly involved in how a business runs, not just how it reports. You’ll be joining a global pharmaceutical business based in East Yorkshire, working as part of a collaborative European finance team where you’ll be trusted to take ownership and encouraged to grow. It’s the kind of environment where you’re supported, but not held back. This is a hybrid role with three days in the office and two from home, offering up to £30,000 plus a strong benefits package. What you’ll actually be doing You’ll play a key part in keeping the numbers accurate and meaningful, supporting both reporting and decision making across the business. Your day to day will include balance sheet reconciliations, cost centre reporting, and supporting the production of management accounts. You’ll also work closely with stakeholders, helping with budgets and forecasts, and getting involved in ad hoc analysis when it’s needed. There’s also exposure to VAT, process improvement work, and wider finance activities, so you won’t feel stuck doing the same thing on repeat. What they’re looking for You might already be in an Assistant Accountant role, or working in a finance position where you’ve picked up similar experience. You’ll ideally have some exposure to balance sheet recs and reporting, be confident using Excel, and feel comfortable speaking to people across the business. If you’re studying ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or planning to, that’s a big plus. Most importantly, you’ll be someone who wants to learn, take ownership, and build a long term career in finance.
