Group Financial Controller Manchester City Centre £70,000 – £80,000 + Hybrid working & Benefits Forge Talent is proud to be representing a leading social enterprise looking for a technical and forward-thinking Group Financial Controller to bolster the SLT as they embark on a period of finance transformation. Upgrading systems, improving processes, and enhancing financial visibility across the group. As Group Financial Controller, you’ll sit at the heart of this journey, leading change, driving performance, and influencing strategic decisions at the highest level. This business is looking to secure its future by appointing a Group Financial Controller with the stature and capability to progress into a future Head of Finance role. Key Responsibilities: • Proven ability to demonstrate strong leadership behaviours, fostering collaboration and influencing across functions., • Strategic finance expertise, including developing multi-year financial strategies and contributing to major projects., • In-depth knowledge of treasury management, tax strategy, and balance sheet optimisation., • Track record of driving continuous improvement in finance operations, reporting, and processes., • Strong capability in digital transformation, automation, and adoption of data-led tools and reporting., • Experience deputising for senior finance leaders and stepping into leadership roles when required., • Technical expertise in financial accounting, month-end close, statutory accounts, and reconciliations., • Detailed understanding of accounting standards, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements., • Specialist knowledge in pension accounting, VAT, and audit processes., • Experience overseeing the production of financial statements for complex organisations and liaising with external auditors., • Skilled in delivering accurate, timely financial reporting to meet statutory, regulatory, and internal deadlines., • Strong working capital management and ability to oversee accounts receivable, payable, and general ledger functions., • Proficiency in developing dashboards, analytics, and data visualisation to enhance decision-making and performance insight. Qualifications & Experience: • Qualified Accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA)., • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a financial management role, with proven leadership of transactional finance teams., • Demonstrated success in leading finance transformation projects, including system implementations, automation, and process improvement. Salary & Benefits • £75,000–£80,000, • 30+ days annual leave per year, • Generous pension scheme, • Private medical cover, • Hybrid working: 1–2 days per week in the office
