Are you a qualified accountant with a passion for making a difference? British Heart Foundation (BHF) is looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team and support thedelivery of several new organisational projects and initiatives. As a Senior Financial Accountant, you'll work closely with the Financial Accounting Manager and Head of Financial Accounting and Control to provide technical advice and support for our innovation and development programmes. ? Key responsibilities include: Playing a key role in the year-end process, production of statutory accounts and external audit. Complex technical accounting in line with the UK Charities SORP (FRS 102). Acting as the lead financial accounting contact for grant accounting and the grant system. Collaborating with internal teams on key accounting areas such as fixed assets, provisions and revenue. Contributing to financial control functions, including supplier payments and month-end processes. Providing technical advice to non-finance staff and supporting BHF project activities. Assisting with taxation matters such as VAT, corporation tax and gift aid. About you We are looking for a CCAB qualified accountant. You'll have relevant experience in the not-for-profit sector, including knowledge of Charities SORP (FRS 102) and charity tax. You'll be a proficient user of accounting systems and possess strong analytical and reconciliation skills. To be successful in this role you'll: be a CCAB qualified accountant be intellectually curious with strong analytical skills and advanced MS Excel knowledge be a problem solver and work well under pressure work well independently and as part of a team be resilient and able to prioritise in a demanding and changing environment have great relationship building skills and strong communication skills Working arrangements This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.
