    About the Role Apollo Security Division is seeking an approachable, vigilant, and highly empathetic Front of House Security Guard to manage a busy gatehouse in Hitchin. As the first point of contact for the site, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises while delivering exceptional customer service. This is a unique role that requires a high level of emotional intelligence. You will be interacting daily with a diverse range of visitors from around the world, many of whom have varying degrees of English proficiency. Additionally, you will be working closely with the client’s internal staff. A calm, patient, and welcoming temperament is absolutely essential for this position. Key Responsibilities • Access Control & Gatehouse Management: Monitor and authorize the entry and departure of employees, visitors, and delivery vehicles at a high-traffic gatehouse., • Front of House Duties: Act as the welcoming face of the site, communicating effectively with international drivers and visitors who may have limited English., • Compassionate Support: Provide a reassuring, patient, and supportive presence for the client’s staff, maintaining an environment that minimizes stress and anxiety., • Emergency Response: Act as a designated first responder on-site, handling any medical or security emergencies calmly and professionally., • Traffic Marshalling: Assist with the safe movement of vehicles on-site (Banksman training will be provided). Requirements & Qualifications • First Aid Certification: Must hold a valid, recognized First Aid certificate., • Exceptional Temperament: A proven ability to remain calm, patient, and empathetic, particularly when interacting with vulnerable individuals or those with mental health considerations., • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to bridge language barriers and communicate clearly and respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds., • Reliability: Highly dependable with excellent time-management skills to adhere to the strict operational roster., • SIA License: A valid SIA license is required for this role. Working Hours Training Schedule: • 05:00 – 14:30 (minimum of 3 days fully paid) Regular Working Pattern: • Monday to Thursday: 14:30 – 00:30, • Friday: 14:30 – 22:30, • Saturday: 12:00 – 16:30, • Sunday: Off Benefits • Professional Development: Fully funded Banksman License training provided upon starting., • Stable Income: Reliable PAYE employment at £13.30 per hour.

    VW Audi Specialists are looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join our busy, well-established independent German vehicle specialist in Hitchin. We are a family-run garage established in 1996, specialising in Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Skoda and other German vehicles, with dealer-level diagnostic equipment including ODIS, VCDS, ISTA and Autel. We are looking for a reliable, skilled and motivated technician who takes pride in their work and can carry out repairs, servicing, diagnostics and MOT testing to a high standard. The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out MOT tests, servicing, repairs, diagnostics and general mechanical work on a wide range of vehicles, with a strong focus on Volkswagen Audi Group models. Duties will include: • Carrying out MOT tests to DVSA standards, • Servicing and maintenance, • Brakes, suspension, steering and clutch work, • Timing belts, water pumps and general mechanical repairs, • Diagnostic work using dealer-level and aftermarket tools, • Fault finding and repair on electrical and mechanical systems, • Completing work accurately and efficiently, • Maintaining high standards of workmanship and cleanliness, • Working as part of a busy workshop team, • Liaising with the workshop controller/service advisor where required Requirements The ideal candidate will have: • A valid MOT Tester licence, • Strong mechanical experience, • Good diagnostic ability, • Experience working on German vehicles preferred, • Own tools, • Full UK driving licence, • Good attention to detail, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, • Pride in producing clean, accurate and professional work, • A reliable and positive attitude What We Offer • Salary between £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience, • Full-time, permanent position, • Established and reputable independent specialist, • Busy workshop with consistent work, • Dealer-level diagnostic equipment, • Friendly family-run environment, • Opportunity to work on a wide range of German vehicles, • Bonus structure available for the right candidate, • Monday to Friday working hours, • One Saturday per month This is a great opportunity for a skilled technician who wants to work in a professional, specialist workshop with a strong local reputation and a long-standing customer base.
