SEND Class Teacher Somerset Start Date: September 2026 (New Academic Year) Full Time | Long-Term Role TeacherActive is proud to be working in partnership with a nurturing and inclusive SEND provision in Somerset, seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Class Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This setting places the child at the centre of everything they do, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). As a Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a broad, personalised curriculum that supports pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development. You will create meaningful learning experiences that build communication, confidence, and independence, preparing pupils for life beyond the classroom. You will: Deliver highly personalised and differentiated lessons across the curriculum Support communication development, including functional and expressive language Foster emotional wellbeing, self-regulation, and positive relationships Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment Promote independence, life skills, and confidence in every pupil Contribute to a flexible, multi-sensory, and pupil-led curriculum You will work closely within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, in a setting that prioritises wellbeing, consistency, and professional growth.
