RPS have an exciting opportunity for a Utility Surveyor to join our Geospatial team. In this dynamic, field-based role, you'll work both independently and as part of a collaborative team on projects that range from routine to highly complex. You'll utilise state-of-the-art equipment to support the delivery of precise field data for Underground Utility Mapping, Drainage Surveys, and various other advanced surveying services About The Team: The RPS Asset, Surveying, and Inspection (AS&I) team provides industry leading services to the UK Water Industry and our employees are involved in services supporting Water Networks, Drainage, Surveying, Leakage Consultancy, Water Resources and Efficiency. The team analyse complex data and provide pragmatic solutions. This includes reducing water leakage and preventing flooding and pollution in local communities. Our team utilise state-of-the-art equipment to support the delivery of precise field data for Underground Utility Mapping, Drainage Surveys, and various other advanced surveying services across the UK and Ireland. About You: As a key member of the Asset, Surveying, and Inspection (AS&I) business, your role as Utility Surveyor is critical to our strategic priorities - to deliver great work for our clients by providing excellent customer service and executing complex operational tasks. Whether you are just starting out or taking the next step in your career, this position provides an opportunity for you to progress with RPS. You will need to work flexibly, working weekends, evenings and overtime if required. Be willing to travel to different locations. It is essential that you enjoy working outdoors, as come rain or shine, you will mostly be outside. Your Responsibilities: Lead and support survey projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope. Collaborate with Senior Surveyors and Survey Managers. Follow technical guidelines to produce quality-controlled survey deliverables. Adhere to safe working practices in various environments. Execute supervised and unsupervised work, following risk assessments. Engage with the public, team members, and clients. Identify and escalate operational, safety, and commercial risks. Comply with company procedures, including safe driving practices. Ensure compliance with quality standards. Skills, Knowledge, and Experience: Expertise in PAS128 standards. Proficiency in using surveying equipment (Electromagnetic, Ground Penetrating Radar) and software (AutoCAD, Microsoft Office). CoStrong written and verbal English skills. A proactive, problem-solving approach with a willingness to learn. Willingness to undergo regular drug and alcohol testing. Flexibility in working hours and good time management. Qualifications: Qualifications: QCF Level 3 in Utility Mapping/Surveying or relevant HNC/Diploma, or proven experience. Full UK driving licence Health and Safety: This role may involve: Moving heavy items including inspection chamber covers. Working in all weather conditions (this could include night work also). About the role: Join our team as a Land Surveyor and collaborate closely with the Geospatial team to deliver high-quality geospatial data for diverse surveying projects across the UK and Ireland. Your role will involve conducting surveying services at various locations throughout the UK, as directed. What you'll be doing: Deliver topographical surveys, measured building surveys, and additional surveying services. Collaborate with the Geospatial team on complex projects using the latest surveying equipment. Current experience with topographical surveying services and knowledge of surveying equipment/software. Access to cuttingedge solutions, including Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Mobile Mapping Systems What We're Looking For: TSA/HNC/Diploma in Surveying or related discipline, however, candidates with suitable skills and/or proven experience will also be considered. Prior experience in delivering topographical surveying services essential Competent user of Surveying equipment such as total stations, robotic total stations, data controllers, GNSS systems & laser scanners, would be advantageous. Competent user of surveying software such as SCC, Pix4d, Trimble Access, Business Centre, and Realworks along with experience of Autodesk software such as CAD, and Revit. Training will be provided. GCSEs in maths and English in grades A-C (4-9) MS office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential Full UK driving licence Why Join Us?
