O&M Field Service Engineer – Renewable Energy (Stafford Area) Location: Stafford and surrounding areas, UK Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Division: Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Reports to: O&M Regional Manager About the Role We are seeking a proactive and skilled O&M Field Service Engineer to join our growing renewable energy operations team. You’ll be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and performance optimization of utility-scale solar PV sites across the Stafford region. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on industry-leading solar energy projects, contributing to the UK’s transition to a low-carbon future. Key Responsibilities • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance on solar PV installations, inverters, transformers, and balance-of-plant equipment., • Respond to site faults, diagnose issues, and perform repairs to restore optimal system performance., • Perform electrical testing, inspection, and reporting in line with relevant standards and safety procedures., • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies, RAMS, and statutory regulations., • Liaise with the control room, performance analysts, and asset management teams to support remote monitoring and fault resolution., • Maintain detailed service records, documentation, and site reports using company systems., • Support improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability, efficiency, and safety performance., • Represent the company professionally when dealing with landowners, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Qualifications & Experience • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering (or higher)., • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) qualification., • Experience in electrical maintenance, ideally within the renewable energy or power generation sector., • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, particularly on inverter and LV/HV systems., • Working knowledge of SCADA systems and remote monitoring platforms (desirable)., • Full UK driving licence (essential)., • HV Authorisation (desirable but not essential – training can be provided).
