I'm working exclusively with a highly regarded manufacturer who are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their plant in Blackburn on a double days shift pattern. \n This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically or mechanically biased engineer with strong multi-skilled capability to join a fast-paced production environment where reliability, continuous improvement, and teamwork are key. \n \n \n \n Key ResponsibilitiesReactive Maintenance & Fault Finding \n\n • Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise production disruption\n, • Diagnose faults across electrical and mechanical systems\n, • Implement effective, long-term fixes to prevent repeat issues\n\n Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) \n\n • Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks in line with the PPM system\n, • Proactively identify improvements to maintenance plans and asset reliability\n\n Continuous Improvement \n\n • Support initiatives such as TPM, Lean, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)\n, • Analyse recurring faults and production losses\n, • Contribute to improvements in machine performance, efficiency, and output\n\n Health, Safety & Compliance \n\n • Conduct risk assessments before carrying out work\n, • Ensure all maintenance is completed safely and equipment is returned in a safe condition\n, • Support audits, compliance activities, and close-out of actions\n\n Documentation & Communication \n\n • Complete maintenance logs, work orders, and shift reports accurately\n, • Ensure clear handovers between shifts\n, • Work closely with production and engineering teams\n\n Stores & Asset Management \n\n • Manage spare parts usage and ensure correct booking procedures\n, • Report stock issues and support inventory control\n\n Candidate RequirementsQualifications \n\n • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering\n, • Apprentice-trained (desirable)\n, • HNC/HND (advantageous but not essential)\n\n Experience \n\n • Proven experience within a manufacturing or factory environment\n, • Strong multi-skilled knowledge across electrical and mechanical systems\n, • Experience working in a fast-paced production setting\n\n Skills \n\n • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability\n, • Ability to work independently and under pressure\n, • Good communication and team collaboration skills\n\n Benefits \n\n • 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays (increasing with service)\n, • Bonus scheme (up to 15%) based on company performance\n, • Enhanced pension (up to 7% employee / 8% employer)\n, • Health cash plan (Health Shield)\n, • Life assurance\n, • Subsidised canteen + free on-site parking\n, • Cycle to work scheme, EAP, and additional employee perks\n\n Why Apply? \n\n • Stable, well-invested manufacturing environment\n, • Strong focus on continuous improvement and engineering excellence\n, • Competitive salary and benefits package\n, • Opportunity to develop within a growing business\n\n \n \n Robert Walters Operations Limited is an employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates
