Benefits - PAYE Pay, No Umbrella Companies, Free CPD, Local work We have the perfect opportunity for a Classroom Learning Support Mentor in a special school in Southwark for boys aged between 11 and 16, with social, emotional and mental health needs. The school are meticulous in their approach to understanding the full scale of the needs of each individual, whilst providing a safe and stimulating environment. This role requires perseverance, confidence and determination as you may need to handle challenging situations strongly, therefore you will need to be prepared. You will need to be flexible, have plenty of enthusiasm, motivation, good communication skills and the ability to work 1:1 or with small groups on specific programmes if required. The most important part of your role is to create and promote positive outcomes and improve pupils social and emotional developments. This is improved by clear boundaries and structure, to create emotional stability and physical safety. This is a full-time support position up until the end of the 2020/2021 academic school year, with a competitive salary. Responsibilities: Managing pupil's behaviour.Ensuring students engage with lessons, providing academic support and working under the instruction of the class teacher.Helping the students with their life skills. For this role, you will have: Experience working in specialist schools such as SEN schools, Pupil Referral Units or in Youth Work.Previous support work within a school or other child related experience.Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour.Happy to work one to one and small ...

The cover supervisor's main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set. What's involved: Cover Managers (Cover Supervisors) varies significantly depending on whether the role is undertaken in a primary, secondary or special school. Existing staff who are asked to undertake cover supervision should be given the option of taking it on as a role in itself or as part of a role. The role should not require any active teaching, marking or planning.
