This is a 36-bed ICU step-down unit caring for medical, surgical, trauma, cardiac, and stroke patients. The unit requires strong critical care skills with a fast-paced environment. Candidates must have solid IMC experience and will be expected to float to other stepdown units, including the ED, as needed. Self-scheduling is offered, and coverage is required every other weekend. No call responsibilities. RN License: Active Maryland RN License or Compact License – Required at time of submission Certifications: • ACLS – Required, • BLS – Required, • NIHSS – Required, • TCAR – Required, • 16-hour Maryland Trauma Certificate – Required (within 27 weeks), • Minimum 2 years of recent solid IMC experience – Required, • Will accept 1 year of ICU experience only with the understanding of higher patient ratios, • Previous charge experience – Preferred, • Travel experience – Not required Clinical Skills: • Cardiac monitoring & interpretation of dysrhythmias, • Blood product administration, • IV therapy: Starting and maintaining IVs, phlebotomy, • Central and peripheral line care, • Arterial line management, • Management of cardiac/vasoactive drips (with titration), • PCA management, • Respiratory support: High Flow Nasal Cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, ABG interpretation, trach care, oxygen therapy, • Wound care / wound vac, • Isolation precautions, • Stroke & trauma CEUs – 8 hours each annually, • Use of rapid response/code teams, • Strong communication & teamwork skills, • Physical Therapy, • Respiratory Services, • Interpretation Services, • Radiology, • Social Services, • Pharmacy, • Rapid Response Teams, • Lift Teams, • Transportation Special Procedures/Unit Details: High acuity IMC care with ICU-level protocols and diverse patient needs. • High Flow Nasal Cannula, • Continuous BIPAP/CPAP, • Cardiac drips (dobutamine, nitro, diltiazem, amiodarone, dopamine, insulin), • Arterial lines, • Lasix, • Peritoneal dialysis (preferred) HonorVet Technologies: Pioneering Purpose, Empowering Heroes Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
