Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Interventional Radiology Technologist, • Discipline: Allied Health Professional, • Start Date: 04/27/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 5x8hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 27, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Work in a 5-room Cardiac Services: Interventional unit at a 933-bed, Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center in Milwaukee, WI, • Department is staffed 24/7 and serves an adult-only patient population, • General IR procedures include kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, central lines/PICCs/ports, fistulograms, IVC filters, nephrostomy tubes, nephroureteral stents, peripheral leg cases, coil embolization, thoracentesis/paracentesis, and CT-guided procedures (cryos, biopsies, drains), • Neuro IR procedures include stroke intervention, embolization, DSA, WADA testing, and spinal angiography (performed during day hours only), • AAA intervention experience preferred, • Average of 40–50 patients seen per day, • Shift schedule is a day/mid rotation with varying 8- or 12-hour shifts (e.g., 0800–2030 or 1200–2030), or a combination of both, totaling 40 hours per week, • Occasional weekend shifts are scheduled, • Weekday call (Monday–Thursday): typically 1 call shift per week, end-of-shift until 0700 the following day, • Weekend call (Friday–Sunday): approximately once every 5th weekend, end-of-shift Friday through Monday at 0700, • Travelers will take Neuro IR call only if they have Neuro IR experience; otherwise, call is limited to General IR, • Call response time is 30 minutes, • Holiday coverage is typically not required but is subject to change (call only if needed), • No floating required, • EMR: Epic (experience preferred), • Equipment includes Siemens and GE imaging systems (experience preferred), MedRad injector, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Change Healthcare PACS, and other equipment including IVUS, GE Ultrasound, Laser, Bovie, and AngiojetRequirements, • ARRT RT(R) certification and current BLS required, • Wisconsin state license required if applicable, • Minimum of 12 months of experience in Interventional Radiology, • Most recent experience must be within the last year, • Proficiency in scrubbing and panning simultaneously, • Experience with General IR cases as listed in the job details, • Familiarity with procedure charging/coding preferred but not required, • Experience with Siemens and/or GE imaging equipment preferred, • Epic EMR experience preferred, • 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, collected within the last year, • COVID vaccine requiredAdditional Information, • Two techs are assigned per exam room, with a third tech added for complex cases; the same staffing structure applies during call, • Support staff includes two unit coordinators, two lead techs, tech specialists, 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, 24/7 Hospitalist coverage, and CNA/Transporter support, • Orientation includes 1–2 weeks with a preceptor and a competency check-off process, • Scrubs are provided, • Free parking is available in an on-site parking structure (badge access required), • Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved, • First-time travelers are accepted provided they have IR experience, • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restrictions apply With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
