We’re looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis to join our team. In this role, you will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and data analysis, ensuring accurate tracking of market trends, sales performance, and key financial metrics. Your insights will play a critical role in guiding strategic decision-making and business planning within the book publishing industry. This position is ideal for a financial professional with strong analytical skills, looking to take ownership of financial processes and contribute to a dynamic, creative organization. What you’d be doing: • Lead the annual budgeting process for the publishing division, collaborating with department heads to align financial goals with overall business strategy., • Conduct ongoing financial analysis to track performance, identify trends, and provide data-driven insights to optimize financial outcomes., • Oversee book sales, royalties, and revenue streams, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting., • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics, variances, and recommendations. We’re looking for someone who has: • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field., • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, forecasting or a related analytical role., • 2-5 years of experience in the book publishing industry., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with expertise in financial modeling and forecasting., • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), financial systems, and industry-specific software., • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex data insights to stakeholders at all levels., • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This position is in New York, NY, and follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence three days per week. The base salary range for this position is $115,000 - $125,000 per year. The final offer will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
