Job DescriptionOverhead Crane Operator Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM Overtime: 5–10 hours weekly available Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Overhead Crane Operator to join our team in a steel manufacturing environment. This 1st shift role offers consistent hours, regular overtime, and the opportunity to work with large metal coils in an organized, safety‑driven facility. Ideal candidates have prior crane experience, strong attention to detail, and are comfortable handling loads with swing. Key Responsibilities • Operate overhead cranes using wireless remote controls to safely lift, move, and position metal coils and materials, • Receive, unload, and stage coils from inbound trucks and coil transfer carts, • Ensure crane hooks are properly set, coils are chocked and chained, and all lifting is performed safely, • Inspect cranes daily and report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly, • Coordinate with production and management to prioritize coils for daily work orders, • Verify accuracy of incoming shipments and outgoing loads, • Maintain proper coil inventory, tagging, staging by width, and daily scanning, • Organize coils, sheets, and paperwork to sustain a clean, safe warehouse, • Perform housekeeping and assist in other warehouse areas as needed, • Consistently wear required PPE: steel‑toe boots, hard hat, gloves, ear protection, and safety glassesRequired Skills & Qualifications, • Proven experience operating overhead cranes (coil handling preferred), • Ability to maneuver loads with swing using a wireless remote, • Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills, • Proficient using tape measures and micrometers, • Solid depth perception, hand‑eye coordination, and reaction timePhysical & Environmental Requirements, • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, • Stand and walk for up to 10 hours per shift, • Comfortable working in a non‑climate‑controlled industrial environment, • Adaptable to temperature changes and seasonal conditions, • Reliable, predictable attendance required, • Good hearing and visual acuity (close range and peripheral)Why Work With Us, • Stable 1st shift schedule, • Overtime opportunities every week, • Hands‑on training and skill development Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
