WHAT YOU WILL DO: • The Product Engineer is responsible for designing and developing avionics-related engineering solutions for a wide variety of aircraft. This position works closely with customers, internal teams, FAA representatives (DERs and DARs), and flight crews to ensure every design is technically sound, compliant, manufacturable, and aligned with customer needs. You will:, • Collaborate with customers, engineering teams, and production groups to conceptualize product ideas based on customer needs and mission requirements., • Identify technical challenges and create functional prototypes that provide effective engineering solutions., • Generate detailed CAD models, drawings, and engineering blueprints using tools such as Autodesk and SolidWorks., • Coordinate prototype submissions and support approval processes with internal stakeholders and FAA representatives., • Lead the transition from product design to manufacturing, ensuring engineering intent is maintained through production release., • Perform market and competitor analysis to evaluate trends, identify opportunities, and guide product direction., • Conduct feasibility and cost analyses, including ROI evaluations, for new product concepts., • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource needs to ensure on-time, cost-effective delivery., • Develop engineering documentation in accordance with company standards, policies, and project requirements., • Serve as a liaison between cross-functional teams—manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and engineering—to resolve technical issues., • Communicate project status to the Program Manager and maintain organized records for all assignments., • Anticipate potential obstacles or delays and communicate risks promptly to management and customers., • Maintain professional working relationships across departments and identify issues early to support team effectiveness., • Prepare written correspondence, technical reports, and project summaries as required., • Perform other duties as assigned in support of organizational objectives. WHAT YOU BRING: • You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:, • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field preferred., • 5+ years of experience in aerospace product design or aviation-related engineering., • Knowledge of FAA regulations, aviation standards, and industry best practices is highly beneficial., • Strong understanding of aircraft avionics and communication systems., • Proficiency in CAD and engineering design tools, including Autodesk, SolidWorks, and related computer-based engineering programs., • Experience with change management and configuration control processes., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering schematics, and technical documentation., • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation, compliance, and design work., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop real-world solutions., • Proficiency with MS Office and general computer applications., • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to support engineering colleagues and cross-functional partners., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating tact, professionalism, and customer focus., • Ability to stay organized, maintain detailed documentation, and manage multiple projects concurrently., • Memory for detail and the ability to help maintain workflow alignment across teams., • Ability to travel occasionally—both domestically and internationally—to support on-site modifications or customer needs., • Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language., • Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug testing and any applicable company/FAA Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program that may be required., • Must be able to pass required background checks, including a 10-year TSA check if airport access or badging is required.
