Job DescriptionDescription:Job Summary: The Hotel Bartender is responsible for providing excellent food and beverage service to guests, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel’s bar. This role requires a passion for mixology, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety and sanitation standards. The bartender will also perform pre-and post-shift duties, ensuring the bar is properly stocked, clean, and ready for service. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare and Serve Beverages: Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with hotel standards, ensuring correct preparation, presentation, and portion control., • Guest Service: Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, taking drink and food orders, and ensuring guests’ needs are met in a timely and courteous manner. Make recommendations based on guest preferences., • Bar Management: Maintain a well-organized and fully stocked bar. Monitor inventory levels and notify F&B leadership of any shortages and supplies that need to be ordered. Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of beverages and ingredients., • Check Identification: Verify the legal drinking age of guests by checking IDs when necessary to comply with federal, state, and local laws and hotel policies., • Cash Handling: Accurately handle cash, credit card payments, and tabs. Ensure proper charge procedures and provide guests with accurate receipts. Handle tips and payments following hotel procedures., • Cleanliness & Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar area, including countertops, glassware, utensils, and all equipment. Adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices are followed., • Team Collaboration: Work closely with and communicate effectively across hotel departments (including restaurant staff, kitchen, front desk, banquets, and housekeeping) to accommodate dietary and special guest requests, ensuring smooth, efficient, and timely service, especially during peak periods or events., • Event Support: Assist with set-up, service, and guests are met with professionalism., • Upsell and Promote: Actively promote hotel specials, new food or drinks, or seasonal offerings to guests. Upsell high-margin drinks and encourage guests to try specialty cocktails and food while maintaining knowledge of menu items and dietary restrictions., • Handle Customer Complaints: Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions and concerns, adapt services as needed to enhance guest satisfaction, and escalate issues to management when appropriate., • Alcohol Safety Compliance: Ensure all services comply with legal regulations, including the responsible service of alcohol. Follow all hotel policies and local laws regarding alcohol consumption., • Food Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, quality and sanitation protocols, including hygiene, proper food storage and handling, and food quality and temperatures standards., • Pre-and Post-Shift Duties: Perform pre-shift duties such as preparing the bar area, ensuring all supplies are stocked, and setting up the workstations. Complete post-shift duties including cleaning, organizing the bar, and restocking for the next shift., • Inventory Management: Assist in receiving, organizing, and storing bar supplies, including alcohol, mixers, garnishes, and other materials. Track inventory and ensure the bar remains fully stocked to minimize waste and control costs., • Maintain Bar Equipment: Properly clean, maintain, and operate bar equipment such as blenders, shakers, and kegs. Report any malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel for repair., • Compliance with Company Policies: Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including time & attendance, meal & rest breaks, uniform & grooming standards, and professionalism. Maintain conduct in alignment with hotel values and expectations., • Perform other duties as assigned by management.Qualifications & Skills:, • Previous bartending experience in a hotel, restaurant, or bar setting is preferred. Experience with both basic and advanced cocktails is essential., • Bar training or certification in mixology, hospitality, or customer service is a plus., • Must complete and maintain Food Handler’s Certification and Alcohol Handling Certification upon hire as required by local laws., • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with guests, team members, and management.
