Dim Sum Productions is a youth-led nonprofit disrupting the "cold outreach" cycle for teens. We believe that a student's future shouldn't depend on who they already know, but on the portfolios they build and the mentors who champion them. For our 2026 Launch, we aren't just "training" students—we are hiring them. We are producing a professional-grade film project where 50 underserved students will work alongside industry veterans to earn real-world credits and build a competitive portfolio. We are seeking ten (10) Founding Advisory Board Members to serve as the bridge between these talented creators and the professional networks required to launch their careers and this production. The "Mentor-Producer" Model In our model, mentors provide more than advice; they provide access. 80% of all hiring happens via warm introductions, yet too often, underserved students lack access to these vital networks. Be an advocate. Open the door for a teen by introducing your professional network and helping them build essential social capital. You will also help students navigate a real production environment while acting as a Brand Ambassador to help us secure the $1.2M Production & Education Fund required to film, edit, and distribute this project. Key Responsibilities • Strategic Mentorship: Directly mentor 1–2 teens as they work on their professional film portfolio, helping them translate their tasks into career-ready assets., • Network Activation: Provide warm introductions to individual donors, family offices, film foundations, or corporate sponsors (Camera/Tech/Media brands) within your network., • Fundraising Stewardship: Collaborate with the Founder (22) to identify and secure "Anchor Gifts" ($50k–$100k+) to meet our $1.2M production goal for the Q1/Q2 cycle., • Production Advisory: Participate in monthly sessions to refine our 2026 production roadmap and distribution strategy. Who You Are • An established leader (Director, VP, or Founder level) in Entertainment, Media, Creative Tech, or Finance., • A believer in Work-Based Learning and the power of a "Warm Introduction" to change a life., • Aware that early-stage nonprofits require "Give or Get" leadership (leveraging your network to secure financial support for the production). Why Join Us? • Executive Impact: Help produce a project where the "product" is both a professional film and a new generation of diverse creators, ensuring that students receive film credits for their professional reputations., • Reverse Mentorship: Work directly with a socially aware Gen Z founder to understand the future of social-first filmmaking and youth engagement., • Verified Legitimacy: Dim Sum Productions is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit; contributions to the production fund are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
