Job DescriptionSalary: 43,622.00 (Non- negotiable) CourtAssociate Fulton County Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Courts FLSA Status:Non-Exempt Grade:11 Salary Range:$43,622.00 Annually Closing Date:2/12/2026 About the Office The Office of the Fulton County Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Courts serves the citizens of Fulton County by maintaining and providing access to court and public records and by supporting court operations across Superior and Magistrate Courts. The office plays a critical role in the administration of justice and public trust, supporting judges, justice partners, attorneys, and the public through accurate recordkeeping, responsive service, and operational excellence. Position Summary The Court Associate provides clerical, administrative, and customer service support for assigned court divisions within the Fulton County Court System. This position performs routine court operations under established procedures while gaining knowledge of court processes, records management, and case management systems. The role requires attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, public-facing court environment. Work is performed under supervision and reviewed for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to procedures. Level and Complexity of Work • Performs entry-level clerical and administrative work following established procedures, • Works under close to moderate supervision, • Handles routine court records and documentation, • Interacts regularly with the public, attorneys, and court staff, • Follows defined workflows and escalation protocols Essential Duties and Responsibilities Court Operations and Case Processing • Assists with basic court clerk duties for an assigned division., • Enters case information, docket updates, and filing data into court case management systems., • Reviews documents for completeness and accuracy before filing., • Assists with courtroom preparation and routine court support activities. Records and Document Management • Files, scans, and images court documents in accordance with established procedures., • Maintains physical and electronic filing systems., • Assists with retrieval and basic research requests., • Supports the processing of disposed cases for archiving. Customer Service and Public Interaction • Provides telephone and counter service to the public, attorneys, and court partners., • Responds to routine inquiries regarding court procedures, filing requirements, and case status., • Refers complex or sensitive matters to senior staff as appropriate. Financial and Administrative Support • Assists with processing payments for fines and fees under supervision., • Performs data entry related to receipts and case activity. Electronic Filing Support • Assists with eFile and eServe processing under guidance., • Scans and uploads documents to electronic files. Operational Continuity Support • Supports daily court operations during high-volume periods., • Assists with special assignments and projects as directed., • Performs other related duties as assigned. Confidentiality and Professional Judgment • Handles court records and information in accordance with confidentiality requirements., • Maintains professionalism when interacting with the public and court staff., • Adheres to County and Clerks Office policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED required., • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer service, data entry, records management, administration, court/legal operations, or law enforcement/corrections., • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Preferred Qualifications • Associate degree preferred in Business Administration, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Law, Political Science/International Relations, or a related field., • Two (2) years of experience in customer service, data entry, records management, administration, court/legal operations, or law enforcement/corrections Licenses and Certifications • Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures., • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing court operations., • Knowledge of records management practices and retention schedules., • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills., • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks., • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures., • Proficiency in court-specific computer applications and general office software., • Strong written and verbal communication skills., • Attention to detail, including grammar, spelling, and accuracy., • Ability to build effective working relationships with staff, officials, and the public. Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs. Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of rational systems; to interpret instructions furnished inwritten, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form; and to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods andstandards to meet variations in assigned objectives. Working Conditions Work is performed in a professional court and office environment with frequent public interaction. The position may involve working in high-conflict situations and exposure to safety and security risks. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, fingering, lifting, and carrying. Medium Work:Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
