Job Description: The ideal candidate will have 3 + years of experience managing and estimating commercial door projects, including but not limited to steel doors, fire-rated doors, and architectural aluminum frames. The Project Manager / Estimator position will be responsible for ensuring successful projects in commercial buildings, such as offices, retail spaces, hospitals, and industrial facilities. Estimating Duties: • Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to prepare detailed door, frame, and hardware takeoffs and estimates., • Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers, possible subcontractors, and budget self-performed work., • Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals with supervisor oversight., • Track bid results and maintain historical pricing data., • Manage awarded projects from submittals through final punch list and closeout., • Coordinate with general contractors, vendors, and internal teams for timely material procurement and delivery., • Schedule field crews and track daily progress., • Review and process RFIs, change orders, and submittals., • Monitor project budgets, material costs, and labor hours., • Conduct project meetings and maintain clear communication with clients., • Ensure adherence to contract terms, jobsite safety, and company standards. · 3+ years of experience in commercial construction, preferably in Division 8 (doors, frames, and hardware). · Strong knowledge of construction documents and commercial door systems. · Proficiency with estimating software (e.g. Bluebeam, Excel). · Strong project management skills, including scheduling (Microsoft Project), budgeting, and problem-solving. · Excellent written and verbal communication. · Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. · Valid driver’s license and ability to visit job sites as needed. Preferred Qualifications: · Certification or training in door installation or carpentry. · Familiarity with a variety of commercial door brands and manufacturers. · OSHA certification or training in workplace safety procedures.
