Job Description Certified Medication Aide (CMA) / Medication Passer – Join Our Clinical Care Team About the Role: Excellence in Patient Safety and Care We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Certified Medication Aide (CMA)/Medication Passer to join our dedicated nursing team at SJJS Lincoln Medical. This role is paramount to our resident's well-being, as you will assist licensed nursing staff by accurately administering prescribed medications and treatments in strict accordance with established policies, procedures, and state/federal regulations. The President will establish the salary and workweek for this position • Competitive Hourly Compensation (Non-Exempt), • 31 Days of Paid Time Off Annually, • BCN Medical, • BCBS Dental, • BCBS Vision, • Flexible Spending Account, • 403(b) with employer match, • $25,000 Life Insurance Core Responsibilities: Precision in Practice As a CMA, your expertise will be focused on the accurate delivery of essential care: Medication Administration & Safety • Administer prescribed oral, topical, inhaled, and other non-injectable medications to residents/patients at scheduled times., • Adhere strictly to the "five rights" of medication administration (Right Patient, Right Drug, Right Dose, Right Route, Right Time)., • Administer PRN (as-needed) medications as directed by a licensed nurse, ensuring prompt and accurate documentation of the reason and patient response., • Ensure the proper security and storage of all medications, including controlled substances, and perform controlled substance counts as required., • Maintain detailed and accurate electronic and/or paper records of all medications administered on Medication Administration Records (MARs), noting dosage, time, and route., • Immediately observe and report any signs of adverse reactions, side effects, or changes in a patient's physical or behavioral condition to a licensed nurse., • Obtain, record, and report vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, respiration) as required before, during, or after medication administration, or as directed by the nursing staff., • Document a patient's refusal of medication., • Respond promptly to patient/resident calls and requests., • Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility, often while performing concurrent duties as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Your Expertise and Credentials Education and Experience • Education: High School Diploma or GED., • Current, valid State of Michigan certification as a Certified Medication Aide/Passer (CMA)., • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification., • Current CPR/BLS certification., • Strong knowledge of medical and pharmacological terminology., • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills., • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team., • Opportunity to work collaboratively with licensed nursing staff., • Focus on patient safety and quality care in a regulated environment.
