Job DescriptionJob description Shift A- Monday- Thursday 1pm-6pm and Friday 11:30am-6pm The Day Program Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing compassionate care, support, and engagement to individuals with developmental disabilities. The DSP creates a nurturing and inclusive environment, facilitates meaningful activities, and promotes members personal growth and community involvement. About the role: This position is offered primarily as Full-time position. Opportunities may be offered for part-time or On-call positions but will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. ELS Day programs are open Monday- Friday and closed for any federal holiday and may also at the discretion of the supervisor or director for situations relating to training, or the health and well being of members and staff. Responsibilities: Member Care and Support • Foster positive relationships with members, offering emotional support, companionship, and assistance during program hours., • Collaborate with Day Program Supervisor to plan, organize, and lead a diverse range of activities and workshops., • Design activities that align with members interests, developmental, goals, and individualized care plans., • Maintain accurate and thorough records of members' attendance, progress, and accomplishments., • Ensure participants' safety, comfort, and well-being by adhering to safety protocols and emergency procedures., • Implement individualized care plans, behavior support strategies, and therapeutic interventions tailored to each participant's needs., • Accompany members on community outings, recreational activities, educational visits and social interactions., • Cultivate respectful and trusting relationships with members, ensuring their emotional wellbeing and comfort., • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills in developmental disabilities, behavior management, and person-centered care., • A least 18 years of age., • A High School diploma or GED., • Able to obtain Arizona State level one fingerprint clearance., • Able to obtain certifications for CPR/First Aid, Article 9, and Prevention and Support., • Experience working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities is preferred, • Dental insurance, • Health insurance, • Paid time off, • Referral program, • 8 hour shift, • Morning Shift, • Afternoon Shift, • Monday through Friday This position requires an active Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPC). Additionally, candidates must complete a background check through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZ DPS) as part of the hiring process.
