POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Trainer is responsible for providing both initial and ongoing training to behavior technicians, ensuring the delivery of high-quality therapy services. This role requires a strong background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and a passion for helping individuals with developmental disabilities. The position involves mentoring technicians, assisting with clinical programming, and ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to provide effective therapy. Based out of the Las Cruces location, this role provides consistent, on-the-ground support for RBTs working in the location and oversite of the daily functioning of the clinic. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Training and Orientation: • Conduct comprehensive training sessions for newly hired technicians, covering topics such as ABA principles, behavior intervention techniques, data collection methods, and ethical guidelines. Mentorship: • Provide ongoing mentorship to new technicians in both clinic and field settings to support their development and ensure adherence to treatment protocols., • Meet weekly with newly hired behavior technicians until they complete their RBT exam, answering questions and supporting them during their first 3-6 months., • Monitor RBT exam progress until successful completion., • Schedule and host ongoing study sessions to assist with exam preparation as needed., • Support group RBT training as requested by the director, limiting to no more than one training per quarter., • Provide in person RBT training support as requested by clinical supervisors., • Track and monitor training KPIs assigned by the director. Administrative Training Support: • Utilize the internal central reach system to update and monitor ongoing RBT Professional Development Units (PDU) for BCBA requirements., • Attend RBT interviews and assist with hiring decisions related to technicians., • Complete initial competency evaluations and provide all necessary paperwork needed to test per BACB requirements., • Monitor RBT training progress and ensure alignment with a 7-week training model., • Work with the caseload team to organize and assign shadowing sessions prior to caseload assignments for all new hires., • Update training materials as needed to stay aligned with board requirements and employee feedback., • Conduct 30,60-, and 90-day check ins with new hires to gather feedback., • Assist with local outreach activities., • Perform all other job duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be 18 years old with a high school diploma, or a higher degree., • Work experienced with children in a natural setting or in a clinic setting., • Must be an RBT for a minimum of two years., • Must be open to flexible scheduling to provide support across all blocks of time between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm, not to exceed a typical 8-hour workday, • Maintain an active Registered Behavior Technician credential., • Bilingual skills English/Spanish are a plus., • Ability to work in a changing environment, gathering relevant information., • Ability to use decision-making skills to plan and accomplish goals without direct oversite. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT: The ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds (e.g., boxes, equipment) without assistance. Capability to stand and walk for extended periods, including moving around the workspace, performing tasks, and interacting with colleagues or customers. Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, and kneel to access various items, equipment, or workspaces as required. Aptitude to reach overhead, horizontally, and below waist level to retrieve and handle objects or materials. Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks continuously throughout the workday. Physical ability to move freely and quickly in various work environments, including navigating stairs, ramps, or uneven terrain if necessary. If the job involves driving, a valid driver's license, and the ability to operate vehicles safely and responsibly may be required.
