Job DescriptionSalary: $75,000 - $100,000 Annually The On-Site Mechanic role is part of our team that operates within our Construction Department. The primary focus of the On-Site Mechanic role is on preventative maintenance and regular equipment upkeep to ensure operational efficiency across our entire team. This role will include repairs of our barges, boats, trucks, and heavy duty equipment. Company Mechanic Truck (F-550) and all necessary tools are provided. Please see the responsibilities and requirements listed below, as this is a unique position requiring a particular set of skills. Responsibilities: • Inspect, test, and complete routine maintenance/diagnostics on ALL equipment (Barges, Boats/Skiffs, Cranes, Auto, HPUs, Generators, and other heavy equipment), both gas and diesel, and keep complete service records of what was done, parts used, and tests that were completed., • Independently plan, schedule, and direct maintenance efforts that help balance preventative maintenance with overall efficiency., • Strong working knowledge of Yamaha outboard engines and electrical systems, marine hydraulic systems and related parts, and boat steering systems., • Be able to review, coordinate and oversee any work that is subbed out to 3rd party vendors, including reviewing invoices, managing out-of-service timelines, etc., • Must be able to communicate equipment issues, a plan of action, and work completed to management. Act as liaison between management, office, and field teams., • Demonstrate the ability to safely and appropriately use required tools and equipment. Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, goggles, safety harness, floatation gear, etc.) safely per OSHA and Stokes Marine standards., • Responsibly manage purchases related to repair and maintenance by following all company policies related to purchasing, receipt submission, and company credit cards., • Determine appropriate supplies and materials needed to complete projects., • Ability to remain organized and utilize company software and programs to schedule, coordinate, and communicate maintenance items and statuses., • Assist in maintaining a strong safety culture by following all Stokes Marine policies, procedures, and guidelines., • Take action to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site., • Follow up on any pertinent emails, phone calls, and administrative activities, including daily updates, receipts or any other requests by management., • Team Player, • Industry and project experience required., • Associate degree or completed certification in marine/auto technology and hydraulic repair training is a plus., • Excellent communication skills., • Ability to manage work duties independently, without a great deal of supervision to ensure smooth operations of our fleet, equipment, and tools., • Must be able to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces., • Technical skills, including hand tools, equipment, and carpentry., • Time management skills., • Multi-tasking and problem-solving skills., • Positive and Above the Line attitude., • Comfortability with electronic communication and administrative responsibilities including but not limited to email, work order submission, maintenance software, etc., • High level welding experience preferred, • Drug Free Workplace Compliance, • Maintain a valid Driver's License Compensation Description: First year total compensation including hourly wage, overtime and bonuses ranges from $75,000 $100,000.00 per year. Starting wages will be commensurate with experience and/or certifications in Marine/Auto technology and hydraulic repair. Weekly hours average 50 hours per week, however additional hours are available. Overtime will be paid for all hours over 40 hours. We have a monthly bonus program you will be eligible to participate in your first month of employment. Increases in pay are seen on a merit basis and during annual reviews.
