The purpose of the Machine / Mold Maintenance employee is to make scheduled and unscheduled repairs on all machines and molds and related equipment used in manufacturing while following all safety and quality policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Ensure preventative / predictive maintenance on equipment, machinery, tools, and document PM through the Maintenance Manager., • Maintain and service in-house molds to ensure production runs efficiently., • Review and inspect equipment daily for safe and proper operating conditions., • Perform PM on molds per the schedule and availability, while documenting and tracking mold repairs and completed PM’s., • Assist with major job repairs to machine, equipment or components when needed., • Submit requests to Machine Maintenance Manager for proper approval and authorization for machine replacement parts, equipment, or components., • Reduce downtime by identifying mold issues and plan for continued improvement., • Diagnose mold and hot runner problems, notify appropriate departments for repair, execute repair, notify when repair is complete., • Follow all safety precautions on repairs to equipment, machinery, and tools per MPI’s / OSHA requirements., • Any other job deemed necessary by the Machine Maintenance Manager., • Follows all safety, housekeeping, and company policies and procedures., • Follows all environmental procedures concerning spills, containment, and disposal of hazardous materials., • Coordinates and maintains all job responsibilities in a continuous and flexible manner and performs other related duties and assignments as required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE • Some college or technical education with courses in Hydraulic circuits, blueprint reading, components repairs and Electrical circuits., • Minimum 3yrs Injection mold repair., • Minimum 3 years in skilled trade capacity working on Injection Molding machinery., • Knowledge in the Set-up of plastic molding machinery., • Familiar with the principles of hydraulics, electricity, and pneumatics., • Ability to TIG and MIG weld or have ability to learn., • Attention to detail with sense of urgency and ability to work with little supervision., • Ability to troubleshoot molds and perform basic mold repairs., • Ability to trouble shoot and repair circuits using schematics, blueprints, and sketches., • Ability to properly use equipment and tools to check and repair machinery.
