Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician Shift: 3rd Pay: $35hr Job Description This role installs, services, and repairs plant equipment to support reliable manufacturing operations. You work with minimal supervision, respond to equipment issues, and complete preventive maintenance to keep production running smoothly. The position may require overtime, off-shift, and weekend work as business needs arise. Responsibilities • Work safely at all times and strictly follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and all other safety protocols., • Install, service, and repair a wide range of plant and facilities equipment., • Apply general knowledge of facilities systems including process and vacuum pumps, electrical power and controls, air compressors, chiller systems, pneumatic controls, valves, and HVAC systems., • Troubleshoot, repair, or replace mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, compressors, blowers, dust collectors, fans, heat exchangers, gearboxes, valves, extruders, and other production support equipment., • Troubleshoot, repair, or replace electrical components including circuit breakers, fuses, contactors, solenoids, safety switches, transducers, electro-mechanical relays, solid-state relays, and electrical heating systems., • Perform minor welding repairs, metal cutting, and fabrication work as needed to support maintenance activities., • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment and complete accurate work order documentation and related facilities support tasks., • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics to diagnose and resolve issues., • Operate maintenance shop tools, electrical meters, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other tools and equipment required to complete maintenance tasks safely and effectively., • Plan and organize individual work to support day-to-day operations, projects, and plant shutdown activities in a timely and efficient manner., • High school diploma or GED., • Preferred completion of an electrical or maintenance trade school or vocational certificate, or 4 years of working experience in a maintenance or electrical field., • Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment., • Strong electrical skills including electrical troubleshooting, 3-phase power, PLC control, and electromechanical maintenance and repair., • Mechanical skills in repair and preventive maintenance of industrial equipment., • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics, including hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair., • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and drawings., • Proficiency using voltmeters and other electrical test equipment., • Basic welding skills and experience with metal cutting and fabrication., • Experience using computer software for email and communication, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Outlook., • Ability to safely lift up to fifty-five pounds during an 8-hour shift., • Ability to safely climb and work from ladders or other above-ground level equipment., • Vocational or trade school training in electrical or maintenance disciplines., • Experience with PLC troubleshooting in an industrial setting., • Experience with HVAC systems and related maintenance., • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and work order systems., • Strong organizational skills to plan and prioritize maintenance tasks., • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of maintenance professionals. Work Environment You work in a manufacturing environment that is non-climate controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. The role involves collaborating with a team of approximately 14 maintenance employees, fostering a supportive and team-oriented atmosphere. You regularly use maintenance shop tools, electrical meters, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other industrial equipment while performing your duties. The position requires adherence to safety standards, including wearing steel-toe boots and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as part of the standard dress code. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
